$100 Home Depot Gift Card Giveaway!!

new-home-depot-gift-cards

That’s right, Home Depot asked us to give away a $100 Home Depot gift card to one of our readers! Read on to find out how to win.

For Father’s Day, as we’ve already mentioned, Home Depot has issued new gift card designs (shown above) including one with the look and feel of duct-tape, and one which includes a free drill bit and bit sizing gauge. You can find these new gift card styles in stores, and Home Depot’s traditionally styled gift cards are also available online with free shipping.

How to Win

The giveaway is for a single $100 Home Depot gift card. To be eligible for the drawing, you must be a U.S. resident and must leave a brief comment in response to the following question.

A Home Depot gift card makes a great gift for hard-working dads, especially those with unpredictable tastes. With it in mind that you would give the $100 Home Depot gift card to your father if you won the giveaway, what would he use it to buy? Or, if you prefer, what would you use the $100 Home Depot gift card for?

The winner will be selected by a random drawing facilitated by Random.org, on Tuesday June 2nd at ~6pm EST. The winner will be contacted via email, so please provide a valid email address in the comment form. Multiple comments will not help your chances to win, although we’re always eager to hear what you have to say.

If I bought a Home Depot gift card for my father (which as of now is very likely), he would probably buy some new gardening tools and supplies. Although I’m not a father, if I were to receive a Home Depot gift card, I would use it towards a Ridgid Compressor, or possible a Ridgid spindle sander.

The winner will be contacted via email for their address and phone number, which will then be forwarded to a Home Depot representative who will then ship out the gift card. If the winner does not provide this information within one week, their eligibility will be forfeit and the drawing will be repeated.

We have a winner!!

  1. FiftyCalAl says:

If my Dad received the card, he likely would purchase new fuel cans for gas powered tools. I,on the other hand, would likely by 6′x 6′s and4′ x4s’ to build my daughter a jungle gym / swing set.

  2. Rick Waters says:

My father would probably buy plywood and lumber, as well as a new circular saw. He is planning on building us a new yard waste and firewood enclosure for our backyard.

  3. Randal Stevenson says:

One thing my father would buy, is a new Freud Diablo 1080x blade. I had a friend who upgraded their miter saw, and I was given, and passed along the old one to my father (replaced his plastic junk 8½ saw). I had an old blade, that was in better shape then the one on it, but it is only a 40tooth (came on my miter saw).
Anything left, and we might use it on a father/son project. I picked up some White Oak, and my father wants to learn about my circular saw guide system, and my brother needs a printer stand. So glue, biscuits, and stain/finish.
    Thanks!

  4. redandtan says:

My Dad started remolding his master bathroom a year ago, and midway through had a house fire in another part of the house. He has cleaned and repaired the fire damage, but it has left him short on funds to finish the bathroom. He would use the gift card to buy tile or plumbing fixtures to get a jump start on finishing the remodel.

My Mom has been without her bathroom during this time, and she is likely to kill him if she can’t use it soon.

  5. Jeremy says:

My father is in the middle of a long garage rebuild. He has been slowly replacing wood paneling (60′s garage) with drywall as funds are available. He’d likely be able to add the garage lighting he has been wanting and be able to finish the drywall he has left with this gift card.

  6. Pete says:

My dad wouldd likely buy the largest and shiniest tool he could find, that would do the job he needed to get done. At our place, it was the Bob Vila school of shop outfitting, for every job, a unique tool.

Or perhaps another new stud finder, he’s lost so many of those I often joke he needs a stud finder-finder.

  7. Jason Ghaffoor says:

If my father received a Home Depot $100 gift card, I’d be willing to bet he would use it to buy lumber and finaly start the pool deck that he always wanted to do.

If I were to win the gift car, I would use it epoxy coat my garage floor, as well as repainting the walls. Anything left over would be allocated to fluorescent lighting (also for the garage.)

  8. uthscsaedu says:

Gift card would probably be applied toward purchase of one of those cordless multitool packs, either Ryobi or Milwaukee

  9. Mike Ford says:

If my dad received a $100 gift card I am sure he would give it to me to sell on craigslist for $85.

  10. Ralph says:

I would say my father would put the gift card towards a cordless impact driver.

  11. Ben Doss says:

My dad would use it to buy wood, and hardware for the pool deck he is planning on building this summer.

  12. fourfeathers says:

My Dad would likely grab some water drainage supplies. We’ve had a rough spring, and he needs to keep the water controlled, and out of the basement.

  13. Brad Ocock says:

My biggest concern would be deciding WHAT the $100 gift card would be spent on: I need a new Dewalt 18v cordless drill, because both my batteries are dead and it’s almost cheaper to get a whole new tool kit than a pair of replacement batteries. So since that’s the case, I might as well spend a little more and buy the drill/recip saw combo kit! That’d give me two drills, which would make multiple pilot holes easy, and I’m sure I could justify several other reasons I “need” two of the same drill.
I also need an air compressor. In my line of work, this is becoming more of a necessity, so at some point in the near future, a Husky 220v 60-gallon compressor will find its way into my shop.
But I also need drywall, mud, tape, supplies and trim to finis the office I’m building in my shop–which is also becoming more of a necessity.
What would my dad buy with it? Like I’d even give him the chance to think about it…

    -Brad

  14. 2WYKD says:

My Dad’s never really had a shop to himself. For father’s day he got hooked up with a workbench, toolbox, a pretty good set, and some other stuff. I wanted to be able to give him the things he’s always tried to give me.

That being said, I’d really encourage him to buy himself a cordless reciprocating saw. He’s been wanting one to use during deer season….you can only imagine what for.

  15. Cheryl W says:

My Dad would probably buy a table saw, he has been saying that he needs one. Thanks!

  16. Rory Bellows says:

My Dad would probably put the Home Depot gift card towards the purchase of a new toliet. He’s replaced all but one in his house and has been talking about doing the last one.

  17. Bolster says:

My daughter’s dad would frivolously spend a Home Depot gift card on materials for home improvement. Thanks for the lottery!

  18. Doug says:

If my dad were to receive a gift card to home depot he would most likely spend the money cordless Dewalt impact. I used mine a lot around him over the weekend while opening the pol and he mentioned how much easier it was for him to drive in screws and nut.

  19. If my dad got this he would by some gardening stuff to finish his back yard paradise he started

  20. Bob Wadyka says:

I would use this for framing and insulating the inside concrete walls of my garage.

  21. Anthony Volpe says:

If my dad were to get a $100 home depot gift card for fathers day,he would use it to buy a new radial arm saw.

I would use it to buy lumber to build a new railng in my home

  22. SIMON BAROR says:

IF MY DAD WERE TO GET A $100 HOME DEPOT GIFT CARD FOR FATHERS DAY HE WOULD FINALLY BUY A LAW MOWER!!!
HE SAYS LAWN MOWERS ARE EXPENSIVE, SO HE HAS BEEN CUTTING THE GRASS WITH A $40 TRIMMER FOR YEARS THAT KEEPS HEATING UP ON HIM EVERY FEW MINUTES! IT DRIVES THE FAMILY CRAZY, ESPECIALLY LAST TIME WHEN THE GRASS THAT FLIES ALL OVER THE PLACE DURING THE “TRIMMING SESSION” HIT HIM IN THE EYE AND HE HAD PINK EYE FOR 2 DAYS!!!

i would use it to BUY MY FATHER A LAWN MOWER!

  23. Chris Lehr says:

Well, my dad has a LOT of tools already, but lately, he spends a LOT of time doing coin collecting and star gazing (he’s a pretty serious amateur astronomer) – I imagine a handheld GPS (he asked me about a car one that could also be an in hand one) would be PERFECT. And if I won, I would totally recommend that as well.

  24. balrog says:

He would use it toward a new BBQ grill. I would use it to stock up on fasteners and other consumables.

  25. Norm says:

My dad lives at the home depot. He should work there. He spends way too much time shopping there. I know he has been looking at some new deck lights to light up the deck area at night. Maybe with this card he can splurge on the good ones instead of the cheapies.

  26. My father has passed away, so I would give the card to my son and daughter-in-law so they could use it for tools or things for the home they are remodeling.
If I used it for myself, I would use it for buying electrical supplies to finish my shop building.

  27. Amber says:

If I were to give this to my father, I’m sure he would buy landscaping supplies (stones, mulch, dirt, grass seed) because he is redoing out whole backyard this summer!

  28. Jupe Blue says:

Hmmm… I was just at HD today. Would definitely spend it on cordless tools. Do they carry the Dewalt 18v. cordless rotor hammer? I’m tired of dragging my corded Dewalt and extension cord out to drill 1 hole for a concrete anchor.

  29. jason says:

If I gave this to my dad I have a good feeling he’d do one of two things with it. We don’t live anywhere near each other, but I always hear about how he’s doing a lot of landscape projects for his home. I could see him buying several plants, flowers, small trees or lights to accentuate his lawn. The other thing I could see him doing is using the card to purchase a useful item to give back to me. He’s already offered a Husqvarna chainsaw he’s never used. He’s also offered to buy several other household tools that he says I need.
If I used it for myself, I’d have to debate what to spend it on. I’d like to use it for wood projects around the home, paint, finish the walls in the garage, pavers for the back yard to put my grill on, plants/flowers for the front yard, or to help build a playset for my little girl. Regardless what it goes too it definitely would be used in this household.

  30. Anthony says:

If I gave this to my father, he would purchase lumber to finish the deck he’s been wanting for quite some time.

  31. Hung Cao says:

My dad would probably use it to buy irrigation supplies. He’s in the process of automating his irrigation in his garden. I would use it to buy more tools!

  32. Troy says:

My father would probably use it to but woodworking tools. He recently move to a new house, and has been dying to set up a proper woodworking shop. My brother and I have been searching for used tools to get for him, but a nice new table saw or drill press would help him out a lot.

  33. Jason says:

My mom & dad are in the process of gutting and remodeling my brother’s old bedroom since he and I are gone. They are just getting started so my dad needs a fair amount of lumber to build in the ceiling as he is getting rid of the drop ceiling, would then buy sheetrock, screws, light, receptacles and would put the rest toward a replacement drill/screw gun as his isn’t working to good anymore.

If it were for me, I just put up a new shed and dug out part of a hill do put it where I wanted and need to build a retaining wall, then put down decorative stone, so that’s where I would spend it!!

  34. Paul says:

I would give it to a deserving dad that could use the extra $$ for a home improvement to make his family’s well being better. Since my dad passed away many years ago, and I have no children of my own, this would be regifting in a charitable way.

  35. Todd says:

Dad would likely buy landscape supplies, while I would be shopping the tool section.

  36. Doug says:

If I won the gift card, I’d give it to my dad and he’d most likely buy some of Home Depots new line up of Klein tools, pliers and linesmans, etc., his are all old and pretty beat up, definitly could use some new ones, either that or he’d do some home improvements with it.

  37. Steve says:

I would buy a ceiling fan for my son’s bedroom. My parents stay in that room when they visit every month, and my father is forever hot at night. We have to crank the air and freeze everyone else out for him to even be close to comfortable. The ceiling fan would help us be able to keep the air at a tolerable temperature but still keep him comfortable. It is even more important now with him having some health problems.

  38. Kurt says:

How many times have you browsed the aisles at Home Depot and found all those things that “I’d sure like to have but I really just don’t have the money”. I’d use my $100 card to just browse and fill the cart with $100 worth of all those little things I just usually wouldn’t buy!

  39. Robert says:

I would use the $100 to buy lumber to help finish garage.

  40. Mike says:

I would use it to help build my garage or possibly stock it with a new tool I have been eying at the HD.

  41. Rob says:

    Hi,

This is a great giveaway. I would probably give it to my Step Dad for Fathers Day.

  42. My father will be retiring come January 1st. January 4th he’ll be 69 years old and he’s in the process of rebuilding a 12×14 shed in his backyard for a wood shop. I would hope that if I win the card, I’d give it to him to purchase tools for his new shop, maybe put it towards a dust collection system or a A/C window unit, or whatever he wants I guess, he deserves it.

  43. if I had it I would buy the next tool that catches my eye that I would otherwise pass on because didnt need it right then

for my dad I think it would be about the same

    bob

  44. Al B. says:

My father is gone, but I do think of him often. He left me many old and well made tools, that are really a joy to use.

I would puchase another quality tool, so that I may leave it to my children.

  45. TF says:

My dad would probably buy something to help me finish the many odd projects I have going. There is sooooooo many of them.

  46. Ken Burns says:

My dad would be most inclined to buy a gasoline powered piece of outdoor equipment such as a string trimmer or blower.

  47. Shawn says:

Well, my father is more of a “I’ll pay to have someone else do it” kinda guy, so, I wouldn’t get him a gift card to Home Depot. BUT, I on the other hand would use it to probably buy cedar lumber and hardware to build my wife a 3rd raised bed garden box or put it towards a larger air compressor. :)

  48. Mike says:

My dad would use it to buy something practical – he never buys fun stuff like new tools he doesn’t really need! I am in the same boat, though – I would buy a backup sump pump in case of a power outage.

  49. Adam says:

My dad would put it towards an Impact driver. He is replacing his deck this summer and I told him that tool would go a long way in helping him drive those screws

  50. JS says:

As my father has passed away, I would use it to build my daughter a sandbox & swingset.

  51. jsw says:

i would most likely buy something for the whole family to enjoy like a barbecue grill,or something for my 16 month old daughter to play on for years to come.

  52. Peake says:

My father is passed away but I think I could spend it in his honor. I think he’d like me to have new air compressor :)

  53. Rohit says:

If I were to win, I would give the card to my father. He would use the card toward the purchase of his ongoing project of redoing the kitchen (appliances, cabinets, countertops, etc…).

  54. Dean says:

Probably would be used on various things in the lawn/garden section.

    tj

  56. Nick says:

I would use it to kick start my patio project!

  57. i’d probably let my daughter give it to my hubby for father’s day. and he would very likely get paint to paint a few rooms in our new house. or maybe a new ceiling fan! that’d be exciting. :)

  58. Justin Brashear says:

My dad has been looking in Home Depot for ceiling fans lately. He wants a good hunter fan or similar for his house.

  59. Chad says:

My dad would likely use the gift card to purchase lawn and garden supplies.

  60. Joseph Halford says:

My father would probably use it to buy paint and supplies for a small bedroom they are turning into an art gallery for their photography. (He just borrows my tools lol). I’d probably put it towards some shelving for my garage.

  61. enloe west says:

If I had the gift card I could not give it to my dad as he is gone from Cancer. I would learn from his experiences though. I would use it to buy extra ratchets, wrenches, and screwdrivers. The reason being just as I did I am sure my son will lose my tools just as I did my dads.

Happy Fathers day and cherish your time with your dad because you don’t know how bad you will miss him till he is gone.

  62. Jon says:

I would probably buy organizational stuff…plastic boxes of assorted sizes to try to clean up the garage. The duct tape card is interesting and might be a small conversation pieces, but the bit gauge card might be something that someone would keep in their tool box and therefore more valuable from a marketing perspective.

  63. Russ says:

I would use the money to by additional lighting for the garage. It is currently to dark to work on the cars.

  64. Dave E. says:

If I won the $100 Home Depot gift card, I would purchase a Bosch, Ridgid, or Dewalt random orbit sander. It would come in handy on future outdoor paint jobs to prepare wood surfaces.

  65. John says:

Knowing my dad, if I gave him the car he would probably just give it back to me to help me put a deck up around our new pool. If I had the car I would buy a screw gun help build the deck.

  66. Jim McCormack says:

I think my Dad would be material for a new fence around his garden. He expanded his vegetable garden recently and needs to keep the Deer out.

  67. Ian Slade says:

My Dad could use it for lumber to re-build the dangerous deck in the back yard. It is high up, 2nd story off the kitchen and too dangerous to walk on at all, stairs giggle and all very rotten. Then the back yard would really be enjoyed!

  68. Jared says:

My dad would probably use it to buy various metal working tools. The same thing I would use it for!

  73. Billy says:

My DAD would use the gift card to help put up a fence. That way the city would leave him alone and stop bothering him to clean up all of his crap. If i received the gift card i would use it to wards buying a Ridgid 12 volt drill and impact combo.
