Barnes & Noble 10% Discount

Over at Barnes & Noble.com, enter coupon code F3L8Y9F at checkout for 10% off one item. The coupon is good until 3am EST on Jan. 25th, and can only be used once per customer.

There is another coupon code, T8R7W8F, which is for 15% off one item for Barnes & Noble members, in addition to the regular members’ discount.

We’re going to take news of this promo as a sign that it’s time for us to order more woodworking books. We also ordered a few DVD box sets as there’s a concurrent “buy two get the third free” promo (details), but discussion of that falls beyond the scope of ToolGuyd.

Before ordering from Barnes & Noble, we always compare prices at Amazon. If you’re looking for a new book but don’t know what to get, take a look at our reading list for suggestions.

At first I wasn’t sure how this was tool related, but now I get it.
I would also recommend used books, or the library. I was able to find most of the Black and Decker home improvement series there (plumbing, electric, etc), even the newest updated versions

It’s not entirely tool related, but I figured that if I’m interested in woodworking and craft books, others probably are as well. That, and I assume that if I like a tool or tool-use related sale, others will as well.

You wouldn’t believe how many other semi-related topics almost make it to the ToolGuyd queue.

Library sale shelves and used or small book sellers are great sources for second hand DIY and home improvement books.

I have a few older woodworking textbooks that my uncle gave me, and they include chapters on mechanical/technical drawing. Try finding that in a modern woodworking text!
