Bosch Heated Jacket

Over at Amazon, they’re holding what I decided to call an end of season promo on Bosch heated jackets.

When you buy a new Bosch heated jacket between now and February 28th, 2014, you can add their 12V 2.0Ah Li-ion starter kit to your order for FREE. The discount is applied at checkout.

Seems like a decent deal. If you’re not a Bosch 12V user – or even if you are – this saves you about $49.

Both the jacket and starter kit must be added to your cart at checkout, and both must be sold and shipped directly by Amazon.com.

Amazon seems to have cut a few Bosch tool prices. I had my eye on a nibbler that they just cut by 20% to $$319.20 – a price that is well below others on the internet:

I wonder if the discounting is being done by Amazon or Bosch. If by Bosch, price drops might soon follow at other distributors. Or it could be Amazon trying to lower inventory.

I think Amazon is playing shadow with Home Depot. HD slashed a ton of Bosch stuff by 20% or more. Some stuff is still more than one could find it for elsewhere, but they have some pretty sweet deals otherwise. It’s a good time to buy!

Seems like you’re right – that 1530 nibbler is the same (20%) reduced price at Home Depot

Of all the heated jackets to come out, the Bosch is my favorite look. This has a cool Euro vibe that would be nice for general wearing aside from work environments. I live in Cincinnati, and we’re experiencing yet another arctic blast. This deal is making the jacket appear sweeter and sweeter.

One thing that would be nice is that since you’re compensating for additional layers with added heat, you could turn it off when going indoors. The fewer layers would be more comfortable indoors without having to lug around a bulky coat. Finding the balance in the winter between outdoors and room temperature is always the challenge. That becomes more true as the temperatures get lower and lower. This would be a great way to find that balance.

This would be a good deal…if the jackets weren’t priced so insanely high already.

$200 for a jacket is a LOT, even more so just because it has wires in it.

$200 for the jacket, battery, and charger is better, if course, but I’d still say the jacket should be less.

Really, the jacket should be free. You’re essentially becoming a walking billboard for Bosch by wearing their logo. It’s pretty backwards to pay a company to do their advertising for them.

Prices just dropped to $141 at Amazon. Not sure how much longer its going to remain at this price.
