I spent some time browsing around on Sears.com just now, looking for a tool storage unit that might be suitable for my father. I didn’t find what I was looking for, but I did find quite a few great deals on tool storage. I started to make a list, but after a minute I realized that almost every ball bearing chest and cabinet I looked at was on sale.
Some tool storage products are 15%-off, others 30%-off, like Craftsman’s relatively new Contour ball bearing chests and roll-cabinets, and others are even as much as 35%-off. Even Montezuma tool boxes and Craftsman’s own stadium-style toolbox are on sale at 15% and 30% off, respectively.
It looks like there might be some discount stacking, because it’s highly unusual to see tool storage at 35%-off. More accurately, I saw 36.25% discounts, but you get the point. Here are a couple of notable deals:
Craftsman Heavy Duty Chest with Piston-Raised Top
Craftsman 36-inch Contour Chest
Craftsman 28-inch Contour Chest
Craftsman 28-inch Countour Roller Cabinet
Craftsman 53-inch Mobile Work Center
There are many others that are heavily discounted, so you may want to spend a minute browsing or checking the ones that are on your wishlist. Craftsman and Gladiator units are on sale, as are most of the other mainstream and premium brands Sears.com carries as catalog-only models. In-store pickup is free (as usual), but larger/heavier items have extra delivery fees.
Coupon codes: REALWISH gives you $10 off $100 and free shipping (on smaller items). SEARS5OFF50 or SEARS2011 or REALJOY can be used instead.
Note: I have no idea when the sale will end. It looks like the 36.25% discount is the result of two stacked discounts, 25%-off and 15%-off. The 15%-off is said to end tonight (12/13).

Take this and see what you can do with associated things….Stainless Benchtop is 40% off

The new contour storage has promise–I like the finish and the rounded corners. Haven’t seen one in the store so I wonder what the quality is like.
2wykd, actually, it looks like it’s currently 44.5%-off due to discount stacking. Not bad!
Teicher, I haven’t seen one in person yet either, but I’m also a fan of the design. It looks like the curved top sacrifices a few cubic inches of space, but it’s difficult to tell from just a few product photos.
After I plugged in REALWISH earlier I noticed, I just didn’t want to create a whol new comment for it.
When can we get a “edit” button?
Sorry, there’s currently no way for you to edit previous comments. I can edit comments when necessary or asked to.
To enable comment editing, I would have to either require commenters to register and log-in, or install a comment/discussion management system, such as Disqus. I may give Disqus a try sometime in the future when working on the next site-wide layout revision.
Thanks for the heads up. Tried to buy the 6′ butcher block top, but even though it showed up at $74.49 in my cart after REALWISH, it jumped back to $97 when I tried to check out. Worth it to me at $75, but not at $100.
I’m not sure what’s going on, but there are some weird pricing issues. I’m also currently battling it out with Sears. At checkout it said one amount, but with a weird tax amount, and then the order confirmation shows a $13 higher total.
Stuart, it sounds like you’re having the same issue I had last week when I tried to purchase the Gear Wrench deal you had posted. I kept getting different pricing. Sears was really nice at first and said they would call me back last Friday with an update, I never heard back from them and decided to spend my money somewhere else.
