Thank you to Sears for sponsoring the giveaway! Here’s a summarized recap about how things went down:
Sears: Hey ToolGuyd, did you check out our holiday tool catalog?
ToolGuyd: Yea, it’s totally awesome! We told all our readers about it when it first came out!
Sears: Oh, cool! What did you like most?
ToolGuyd: Definitely the new Craftsman hand tools and Nextec 12V cordless tools, as well as a couple of the other brands’ new products.
Sears: Glad to hear it! We love your readers and really want to show it. How about a giveaway?!
ToolGuyd: Sounds good! We think that the Craftsman MAXX AXESS set would be a hit with our readers!

I’d put it in the wife’s car. We always seem to be in her conveyance when I need tools on the go.
So we are to leave two comments on this post? Usually that voids our TG giveaway entries. As an aside, I can’t believe how the Kobalt Double Drive giveaway just blew up on TG. Everyone and their brother entered that thing. Google search results for “kobalt double drive” sure don’t hurt you either.
At first I was thinking that this was a normal socket set… but now that I understand what this does, I really want a set. I suppose if I don’t win, this will go on my x-mas list.
Stuart you always have the best blog and some fantastic freebie bones to throw to readers. This one like many of the others is a great one. I could find many a way to use the Maxx Axess sockets.
Nice! Thanks Sears and ToolGuyd!
About the catalog – I always love drooling over them.
This year I am looking for some ratcheting wrenches, a torque wrench, and some impact rated drivers. We will see what Santa brings me.
Thanks!
@Jeff, you can leave one or two comments. I will tweak the wording of the post to reflect this.
@Joel, it’s also great as a low-profile socket set!
@Rob, thanks, I do try.
@Karl, Me too. It goes back many years – I remember drooling over Toys R US’ huge Christmas catalog. Catalogs are also one of the quickest ways to learn about a new hobby or field.
The tool that catches my interest the most is the updates to the oscillating multi-tool. I have the first gen and the hex nut is bodged up so badly. The tool-less mechanism and QuickBoost charger are welcome improvements. They fixed the things that needed fixing. Otherwise it’s a fantastic tool still.
This is a great set. Has many size adapters for socket-to-ratchet fits. Would be a nice gift to myself.
As for the Sears Catalog–the battery tool set with 19 watts-and the band saw are what would be nice to have.
This would be a nice replacement for my currently busted 3/8″ drive ratchet that I have yet to get replaced at sears.
Sounds like just the thing for a gift or it is compact enough to keep in the truck.
Craftsman is great.
Ooh, I don’t have one of those, and therefore must have it! Gotta collet ‘em all!
Craftsmen makes great tools and I have broken a few. All have been replaced with no issue. I look forward to using the Max Axess kit for years to come. I want all of them!
Big money! Big prizes! I love it!
Been looking @ the Max Axess set for some time now, if i won that set i would put them to work on bolting some rebar (usually use the craftsmen or a gear-wrench cross-force ratcheting wrench for the job) down to some sill plates or rebar and steel beams (rebar to long to use deep socket use)
After going trough the x-mass catalog 2-things caught my eyes.
1. E-Z Red 12-in-1 wrench set, looks funky and cool @ the same time would love to know about their performance.
2. Craftsmen premium ratchets, I got the 1/2″ and I like it alot been wanting the 3/8″ but I am more curious to know if they would add a stubby in this style or a flex-headed one. The premium line needs to expand.
1) The max axcess is a great idea and is obviously a better choice than a standard deep socket in many cases.
2)I’d love to upgrade to an assurelink garage door opener. I’m always wondering whether I accidentally left it open.
I’ve always wanted to try the pass-through socket sets; the price is certainly right here!
The Sears holiday tool catalog is chock-full of things I’d like, but I really want a new air compressor – the 25-gallon professional model would be more than adequate for my needs, and I’d much rather have a traditional piston pump than an oilless model.
I’m hopeful that one of these sets will wind up under my tree. I like the look of the black socket set especially. And whether I get it for Christmas or not, I will be buying a new air hose reel soon.
I really want a set, but can’t find them at the local Sears.
The Max Axess socket set is a tool I’ve been thinking about buying myself for a little while now. Seeing it in a black friday ad for next week was pushing me closer to pulling the trigger. First project in mind is using it along with Unistrut and threaded rod to build a storage platform over my garage door.
The tool in the 2011 Christmas Catalog that catches my eye is the Toughbuilt tool belt and storage system. Seems like the it would be most useful for having a core group of tools to support individual tool kits i.e. a tape, hammer, utility knife, etc. on a belt pouch that can be clipped onto bags set up specifically for plumbing, electrical, interior trim and so on. Thanks Stuart – Now you’ve got me re-thinking my current system of Craftsman toolboxes for various tool kits.
I would love a set of these under my tree.
Would be great for the wife’s vehicle. I keep a Gearwrench set that I bought at sears a few years back in my rig.
sweet, just saw this set advertised on tv the other day.
The craftsman 35 led rechargable worklight caught my eye, with the sun setting at 4 pm these days , need all the extra light I can get to extend the working day.
Good news! I have had my eye on these for awhile. That single kit may replace my need for a large socket set. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? This is definitely one of Craftsman’s more innovative offerings.
I would love a set of these…
just went through the catalog and made up my Christmas list. The Max Axess is at the top of the list
Now THIS would be a great win! Too often I’ve misjudged the length of a bolt and it bottomed out in the bottom of a socket. As far as the Sears catalog, the most intriguing thing (and one I hope will be a ‘secret’ Black Friday deal) for me is the ‘Stadium’ top chest that looks like a Craftsman-branded version of the Montezuma.
One can’t have too many tools; I would think these would be very helpful under certain conditions. Thanks for the opportunity to participate.
I have been thinking about buying this set since it was first posted. If I don’t win I’ll see if I can get it for Christmas ! And if I don’t get it for Christmas then it’s time to open the wallet.
I would really like to know how this compared to the Gearwrench sets.
The new craftsman tool that intrigues me in the catalog is still the jawhorse. I cannot bring myself to plunk down the cash for it. But I really want to see the craftsman version of this one that appears in their black friday ad.
about twenty years (i think) i purchased a set called “O wrench”. it is the same basic idea, tho the “max axess” could possibly be an improvement on it. i have reach for exactly 1 time in the twenty or so years since i got it.
would i like to own this set, sure as a win or gift but probable wouldn’t buy it myself.
sorry for the downer post but that is the way it is.
in the new catalog there is a lot of stuff i want, too much to list here ;^D
later jim
This is a great kit, with all of the sockets you typically use, and then some. Ninety per cent of the time, sockets from 3/8″ to 3/4″ (and their metric equivalents) are what you need. Having some above and below that expands your range of capability. Including both standard and metric sockets makes this a killer set, whether it’s in your trunk or as your primary set. You never know these days what type of fasteners you’ll encounter on a repair job. I like the ergo ratchets, and the drive sizes (1/4″ and 3/8″) cover most of my needs. Not having to carry additional deep sockets for the times you’d need them makes this a great package for the money.
This looks like a set that would be good to leave in the car.
This would go a good way towards set up the garage workshop in the new house.
would use the set for the car.
Didn’t know Craftsman made this. Looks like a great set to have!
Personally it’s another thing that I’ll likely keep in the car for those “just in case” situations. That and I anticipate being called on to help repair my friends’ things—being ready to help at a moment’s notice is always good.
As for the tool catalogue, I can honestly say that I like the work lights. Though I’m having a difficult time picking between the 80 LED rechargeable one or the 35 LED Stick Light with a magnetic mount.
I’d give it to my father in law so he can retire the crappy tools he uses now.
It looks good to me. Someone is going to be happy
yours Scott
That set would be perfect foe me to pack in the saddlebag of my BMW to augment the factory tool kit.
That is a nice socket set, something to keep in the car.
Flipping through the tool catalog was like poring through the Sears Christmas catalog looking at the great toys when I was a kid.
That set would be perfect to pack in the saddle bag of my BMW to augment the factory toolkit.
This looks like a great wrench set. I’d love to win it!
Great for tightening nuts on anchorbolts or other threaded rod anchors
Looking in the catalog, I found just what I would love to have! Item#009-20569, the 120 volt, 130 amp wire feed welder.
Sweet buttermilk biscuits, those are cool! That set would come in real handy in rebuilding my old bug engine.
I would get really liberal in estimating the length of bolts for any projects I use them with.
This is a great set that will come in handy when I don’t want to bring along standard and deep sockets. It would make a great Christmas gift for dad or any other handy man you know. I also saw lots of other great gift ideas in that Craftsman catalog.
I’d give them to my dad to keep in his car.
Nice set to have and keep. This would be helpful for those tight spots!
Very excited for the new low profile Ratchet set, hoping to get one for Christmas!
Got this set for my Dad and now I’m jealous. Please oh please…
Looks like a nice set and I could use it out in the garage for the tight spots on modern cars.
Nice! Thanks Sears and ToolGuyd!
That would be a great xmas present for my dad.
I also checked out the Sears holiday catalog and the Craftsman premium ratchets are on my xmas list. They look like sex. Too bad the 3-piece set is not available right now
The fact that you can get so many sizes in such a low profile and not necessarily need a specific sized ratcheting wrench is nice. Also the compact box to carry them to a job, instead of needing to drag a big tool box when you aren’t sure what size you may need makes it handier.
Send more tools!
Finally Sears has gotten around to upgrading their case. This is something of a specialty tool set, so it’s nice to see a case that has some quality instead of the old blow-molded cases with the hinges that fail after a few uses. This case looks like it has some quality to it, and will last for years to come.
I have several items I would like from the Sears tool catalog. I could especially use some of the larger pry bars. Hmmm – maybe I’ll go see if they are on sale right now…
There have been times I needed a very low profile ratchet solution. This set looks be well designed.
These wrenches look cool. I would love to try them out.
I have been telling people about these for quite sometime. They are not just some specialty tool to be stuffed in the back, collect dust, and be forgotten about.
They serve great as a primary toolkit around the house, in the car, or for a new apprentice.
When they are viewed as a specialty tool, they end up in the back, and you forget you have them when you really could have used them. Compact size allows you to carry a “lot” of tools in a small space.
I would gift this to my son! Thanks for the giveaway!
someluckydog at gmail dot com
These things would be awesome for working on cars. There are just way to many tight spaces in the engine compartment these days.
I’ve been thinking about jumping on some of the nextec tools from the catalog. The price is pretty good on those.
My teenaged son would be gifted this for a lifetime of Craftsman use and enjoyment.
These do look nicer than the gearwrench ones.
Love me some free tools
As a leader for 4-H robotics club with limited tools, I’d love to win this for our club. We’ve depended on donated tools for a couple years now and it would be great to expand our meager collection!
They would be a great help working on my Honda where everything is crammed under the hood and there’s not much room. You can’t beat the Craftsman hand tool guarantee!
I like the pass trough feature of the new Max Axess socket set! It should make this set very useful in a lot of repair situations. Would be a great “road” tool set too, lots of uses without lots of sockets. I would like to take a set out for a “test drive”!
This looks like it would be a lifesaver for me. I deal with a lot of strange access situations working in a plant that was designed prior to WWII and has been continuously “improved” since.
Craftsman Holiday catalog items on my wish list this year so far: 19.2 Impact wrench and Impact Driver, Premium Ratchets.
Would also like to see the Ratcheting Clench wrench in person.
I have been helping my 8 year old grandson build a tool box. This would be his best acquisition by far. He would be thrilled! We’ll use it for our projects in the garage. So far we’ve built a motorcycle out of VCR parts, which turned out great and we rebuilt and repainted a vintage fan. I’d like to find a small engine to tear down. I’ve seen these tools and am already a Craftsman fan. My grandson will be too.
Honestly I looked at the catalog and I’d still pick the Max Axess – I liked the black ones. I need the “axess” to get the battery tight on my motorcycle!!!
I’d love to win one of these sets b/c I can see so many useful applications for it! I’m getting my M.Arch degree and frequently am relegated to designing and building portions of my studio projects and they’re not always “standard” in their design and development. This would provide me an easy means of reaching fasteners used to hold my constructs together! Send it my way Stuey! Please and Thank you! haha!
looks to be a very useful set for tight spaces, that’s like replacing 50 ratcheting wrenches and 50 low profile sockets!!
also from the catalog the Crescent Rapid Slide adjustable wrench looks to be really nice and a really time saver
I like the fact that it has a large selection of sockets but comes in a compact size case. It would be a great starter set or an nice addition to have in a vehicle.
nice!!!!!!!
That ratchet and socket set look nice… for me to poop on!
I’d have a good use for this to get into some tight spaces
always wanted this set.
like the new plumb hammer in the sales flier
Being a mechanic a set like this would really come in handy.
Thanks Stuey, for the great give away !!
I was going to take a quick look at the Sears catalog, but I spent almost an hour digging thru it.
Best two things I saw were the ball peen hammer set with hickory handles and the 19.2 impact driver (amazing torque rating for such a small tool too).
I’m giving serious thought to adding a camera system to my gear stable. The remote screen would really save me a bit of work.
Now, if Sears would just stock some of this stuff in my local store so I could check it out in person (with money in hand) I’d be thrilled.
As far as where and how I would use the Max Access socket set, I’m building an overhead storage platform in my shop. It will be suspended on all thread rod and unistrut, with a servo motor raising and lowering it as needed.
44 pieces of all thread, 5 different thread sizes, with various lengths from one foot to 48 inches. I’ve really been dreading tackling this job with a wrench. The Max Access would be tremendously convenient, plus the cool factor alone is off the charts.
I can think of quite a few things on which I could use those sockets.
That E-Z Red 12-In-1 Flex Wrench Set RW12 in the catalog look interesting.
That’s a great looking set. I can think of more than a few times that would’ve came in handy working on my 1987 ford ranger, also at my job building ground service equipment for aircraft lots of tight hard to reach areas in most of the stuff they have me working on.Thanks for the chance I enjoy reading this blog
Here’s hoping I can score the socket set.
Looked over the guide and the screwdriver with the builtin swapping bits seems neat. Played around with it in the store and would make a great all around driver to toss in the kitchen drawer.
looks similar with gearwrench set. Would be good the the regular car work.
I am the small engine guy in my township of 17 homes!
I’m known by all for getting my moped to go 60.8mph( you know, not scooters, the with pedals! )
I love wrenching on everything and I would use this set every day. Actually just lost my craftsman 7/16 3/8 socket a few days ago, and I am disgusted with myself, I hope it shows up on the garage floor somewheres or I guess this high tech set would really cheer me up.
Would love to get one of these sets. For use on my car when tradional ratchets don’t fit!
Oah yeah, as for the catalog -
A lot of the standard tools are appealing because I do not have many.
Thread repair kit, gloves, lighting, not really into any of the woodworking stuff.
sears + toolguyd <3
I’d love a set!
It looks like those extensions are hollow so a bolt can go through those as well. That and the screwdriver handle are really nice touches.
Very cool tool indeed! I’ve been interested in that type of set for a long time…but always wondered how much I’d use it. (Now, I might get the chance!)
I also need to stop at Sears..if there’s one in stock….to check our that Extec Borescope. Looks like just what the Dr ordered….
The MaxAxxess stuff looks nice.
Browsing the catalog, I’m once again reminded of how much I really really really want a set of those elbow ratcheting wrenches! Everytime I see them, I drool over them!
I would love to win this for my husband!
Very cool! I’m a general contractor, tools are a part of my everyday life, So I can think of a hundred ways I would use this! I usually stay clear of craftsman power tools, weight and size wise they are awkward and heavy for woman’s hands, so my Makita 18v lithium gets daily abuse. But taking taking a look at the Sears catalog has peaked my curiosity about craftsman’s version of the lithium powered cordless tools. I may have to check out how their weight and size compares to others again.
I would give this set to my boyfriend, he loves tools.
The item that caught my eye in the Sears Holiday catalogue was the shinny premium craftsmen ratchets they were pretty cool and an awesome set to finish my boyfriends collection. : )
My husband would love to own this, Craftsman is a brand he is very loyal too as the quality is just so much better.
Definitely wouldn’t hurt to add to my tool collection.
Gotta say the new premium ratchets caught my eye in the holiday catalog.
I sure would love to give this to Dad for Christmas!
I’d rather have this than the double drive
I do all of my own work on my vehicles. If I had this set, I could have swapped out my own transfer case instead of taking it to mechanic. This is the coolest tool set I have ever seen. Can’t wait to get my hands on this
What an awesome assortment of sockets!
The Bora two piece clamp edge combo would be a great addition to my shop. It would be helpful to rip down some sheet goods.
I would love a Craftsman Air Impact Wrench and Sockets.
I have a small version of this set that I picked up in an auto parts store – I think it was ‘Performance Tools’ branded. These have come in REALLY handy in various projects where even a deep well socket is too shallow. When I have some task to do outside of the house involving a fastener, it is the first thing I throw into the tote of tools I’m bring with me. VERY useful for tightening chain link fence nuts because of the depth issue. These things are better than deep wells if you can use them because the torque you are applying (assuming no extension is in use) is closest to the nut meaning you don’t need an extra hand to keep the top of the socket wrench perpendicular to the work while applying torque. I’m sure the Craftsman branded set is of higher quality, and would make a superb gift.
I am most interested in the #009-44043 Gearwrench flexible head ratcheting wrenches from the Christmas catalog (Page 17). These things will come in very handy working with automotive repairs because of the way things are crammed into the engine compartment these days. You should see some of the weird creations I have made with wobble extensions and universal joints to remove or tighten fasteners that would be easy to get with a slight flex on the head of a standard box wrench. I also believe a subset of this set is on the Sears Black Friday sale, and would also make a good gift. I’d go with the Metric set here because that is what automotive fasteners are these days and I can’t think of many cases where I’d need these for an SAE fastener…
I would love to add it to my box
I want this set because not only does it look and feeel good but it comes in handy in certain vehicle applications. Most recently I was doing struts on a 98 Camry and needed to remove the stabilizer bar links. The ball joint kept turning with the nut. The repair manual said I could hold down the center of the stud with a 5mm hex. I borrowed my friends MaxAxess set and was able to remove the nut while holding the center with a hex. The set helped me make quick work of that nut.
You know at the end of a long day the differance between using cheap tools, or quality tools. Craftsman engineered tools are first class all the way!
Terrific tool set — and the red box is cool too!
I would *say* that I would give this to my brother in law, but I am not sure I could actually let it go…
I would love this to give to my dad for Christmas!
This set covers a lot of bases in one small package without lugging the kitchen sink. I purchases one as a supplement to my standard set, and it ended up being primary. This would be a great gift idea that any guy would appreciate.
Robert
Just started my first tool collection at the beginning of this year, this would be a great addition to my tool box. Thank you ToolGuyd for all the great info and i love the amazon search tool on your site.
I would totally get a lot of use out of these on tight spaces on all of the cars and small trucks I help work on at church. Giving back to people I know is what I love to do. Using top quality tools like Craftsman helps me get the job done. I’ve been buying Craftsman since I was 6!
Those are the best looking and best made tools ever!!
Those are the best looking and handiest tools I have ever seen!
Those are the best looking and useful tools I have ever seen!
Wow, the new craftsman tools are sweet! The new catalogue is very nice.
Terry
mass axess set looks nice, it looks better than my kobalt set. I LOVE to have one of those montezuma tool boxes. then i wouldnt have to go thru several smaller boxes to find what I need
Emmm TOOLS…….
Emmm TOOLS…….That’s a must have set.
Sick of my cobbled together tools I’ve had since high school… I’d love a nice set like this so I can get rid of the mess of other sockets I have!
After looking at the catalog , I’d dig one of the clench wrenches too!
Pick me! Please!
I will be giving a set to my husband, my brother, stepson, brother-in-law and son! This is a great universal tool!!!
A perfect gift for my son — thanks for the entry!
Great looking set.I’d like to try it out.
It doesn’t matter what I would use it for, because there’s no such thing as having too many tools!
Just send it my way, something new to try but nothing beat old fashion
All of the Craftsman garage storage systems have my consideration. I am definitely going to add this Axess system sometime soon also!
This would make one awesome Christmas present. Okay, okay, I’ll admit it; I mean for me
I have very few high quality tools which can make my work (maintenance) quite frustrating at times.
Multi-functional tools are the way of the future. Who wants to carry a 100lb bag of tools around when you can easily have just a few tools that can do the jobs of all of them instead? Craftsman has it down when it comes to innovation. That ratcheting clench wrench and the 8 in one ratcheting one are simply brilliant. I can’t wait to see what else they come up with to add to my collection.
I’d give this to my brother. Thanks so much for the chance to win it
tmc480 at yahoo dot com
My brother could use the digital router
tmc480 at yahoo dot com
shared page on fb
tmc480 at yahoo dot com
I’d give these to my dad seeing I have the slightest clue how to use these things!!
rjs682 at yahoo dot com
My dad started me out with a Craftsman screwdriver set when I was about 12 years old. He taught me to save my pennies and buy a few quality tolls, rather than a bunch of cheaper ones, and I slowly built my collection. Now, at 46, there’s little in my tool chest and chest that isn’t Craftsman.
I saw the Axess set in the Craftsman Club fyer that arrived today, planning to add a set to my Christmas list. Before commiting, I got on Tool Guyd to see if there were any reviews, found this article, and here I am.
I’d really like to add a set to my arsenal. These would be great for tight spots working on the vehicles where a standard ratchet/socket combination just won’t fit.
As for cruising the catalog, the “AssureLink” garage door opener is a cool gadget, and I wouldn’t cry if the Nextec portable power tool series found its way under the tree!
I a hoping for a C3 Skill Saw for Christmas. But I am always happy with anything Craftsman!
If I win, I’d give the set to my Son. He’s only 6 years old, but he already loves tools and loves to work on the car and other projects with me.
I browsed through the Sears catalog and the premium ratchets really catch my eye. I’m going to ask “Santa” for the set of three ratchets as well as the 6 piece set of Craftsman pliers. Oh, and the Craftsman Club 20th anniversary bottle opener is a must buy for me.
funny enough I was eyeing this set for the car…
No more needing long sockets! Yeah!
I’ve been wanting to try one of these sets out for a while, but couldn’t justify the purchase. I wouldn’t have any problem justifying a set for free though!!
This set covers a lot of bases in a nice size package without havine to lug the kitchen sink. It would make it very convenient to have when helping all of my friends with various types of jobs.
This set would ride in the truck with me. It looks like a great set of useful sockets.
This would make a good set for my nephew.
From the catalog, I’m interested in the premium ratchet set.
Far too many tools to choose from in the catalog. If I had to pick one it was for sure be this max axess set. Super versatile for most any job.
Would give this to my friend Kim who is a girl not afraid to tackle any DIY project, home or automotive.
wow great looking set and you know its quality with the craftsman stamp!
one of us is going to get an awsome suprise this year. Thanks T G and sears
im buying the offset metric wrench set asap
please enter me in the give a way.thank you.
These are really neat id love to give a set to my brother to keep in his work truck they wouldnt get all lost bouncing around in that nice case.
And those elbow ratcheting wrenches from the Sears catalog look like they would look great in my toolbox!
These would have made it much easier to replace the water pump on my Cherokee.
Awesome. Will make a great gift when I win them… to myself!
My husband saw this advertised on a television ad, and it is the only thing he has asked for this Christmas.
The ratcheting clench wrench intrigues me, although I wonder if it’s kinda gimmicky. Worth a try in the store at least, though!
The ultimate tool-lovers toy catalog!!! Especially interested in the multi-tool items.
To myself who loves to tinker with my car and who learns to love it everyday through all the ups and down we have been through. Unfortunately, I have not much tools to do the other repairs and left with the option of just bringing it to other shops who has the correct tools and spend more in the end of the day.
Also, I would possibly giving this to my friend who has an overwhelming VW beetle project at hand but currently has not enough money left to fund even for the proper tools to begin his project.
That max axess set looks pretty useful. I used one to get to a rear strut tower bolt on my WRX. Not sure what else I could have used since deep sockets wouldn’t fit, and wrenchs didn’t have the clearance to turn.
Personally, i’m looking forward to a review on the new long pattern double box end “raised panel” wrenchs, part # 40012 and 40013. The look like something i’d want.
Merry Christmas to ME!!
Having this set would make my existing Sears Pro ratchet set and my GearWrench Pass-Thru set very happy, because it would show they can interbreed and have children.
Please enter me ~ Thanks!!
I would like to upgrade my mismatched socket set at home with a max axess set. I use the sockets to fix my kid’s bikes (and their friend’s –lazy dads!), change the oil on the cars, and whatever else comes my way.
One of my favorite tools in the catalog is the G2 Nextec drill and quickboost charger. I had the G1 drill and loved it, but sold it so I could get a G2.
It looks like a tool I could make use of.
This set looks awesome!
I would love to win this set, I would use it as my primary socket set for all my projects around the house from changing the oil on my car to building a playground set for my daughter.
I would love to win this set as mentione, also after going over the catalogue I realized how many cool tools Sears has to offer my next on the list is going to be the 109 screwdriver set, it seems like the ultimate set I would ever need in life. I am excited about the products in the catalogue and can’t eait to sly build up my tool collection.
Could definitely find a good use for this at work!
I’d love to have a set of these. Would make lots of jobs around the house and on vehicles easier! Love the site.
I’ve always wanted a max access set and this Craftsman one looks like it could be invaluable when working in tight spots.
I’m definitely going to be buying some new Craftsman tools this year…especially the 84 tooth pro ratchets in 1/4 and 3/8 dr. and a universal socket set. Thank you Sears!!!
I put new sidesteps on my wife’s Element last week. I could have used the low profile as a few of the bolts were in such a tight spot, I couldn’t get to them with a regular ratchet. I resorted to a regular wrench which took forever to do!
After reading the good things about this set, I’m ready for one. This setup will come in handy many times a year.
Neat idea, useful for those dealing with threaded rod or long studs. But would be careful not to co-mingle them with standard drive stuff, that would probably be pretty frustrating.
Would love to have this set. This looks like a nice addition to my tool collection.
One tool that caught my eye in the catalog is the elbow ratcheting wrench set. I have a few ratcheting wrenchs but the pivot on this one looks like it would be useful for a few situations I was in this year working on my cars.
I’ve been wanting this set for a while. It would really come in handy for wrenching on my cars.
I’d also like to see a review of the new long pattern double box end raised panel wrenches.
I would love to win this set, it is perfect for those tight fitting jobs. I really like that 125 years anniversary ratchet, would be a cool investment for my tool box.
I bought one of these for my Dad for Xmas, it looks like something I might be able to use and the ratchets feel great (like my thin profiles).
I’m in!
Never used one of these types, so would be interested to try…
For the second entry, the cross force style wrenches, with and without ratcheting ends look interesting!
That looks like a nice set. I bought the Gearwrench equivalent some years back and it has been helpful in some tight situations. The Sears set the ratches look a bit more ergonomic.
I would give these to my son for xmas. He works for Knapheide bolting truckbeds on frames and all the extras . constant clearance problems.
thks TW
Just had our first baby on tuesday, is there any way these sockets can tighten up my little guys voicebox, it seems a little loose, and loud
threadmax looks like my next must have!
how about something on the portable torque / angle meters?

for Max Axess
This set looks nice I’ve been looking for something similar for a while.
The 1/4″ professional grade ratchets look great but I’m reserving judgement until I can feel them at a store. If I can ever find one!!!!
Working on cars, I already have tools. But this would make a nice basic set for my younger brother, whose also into cars, so I would give it to him if I won this.
Sure looks as nice as the original GearWrench; would love to win this!
This max access socket set looks like it could come in handy in those cases where I’ve got a threaded fitting to loosen or tighten and I need the socket close to the base of the fitting for leverage. Tightening air fittings on to air tools is a good example.
The Max Access set would make a Christmas nice gift for my brother. I’d like a set of the GripLatch tool storage chests.
Who won?
First winner got back to me about a half hour ago and declined as he said he already bought a set that’s he’s happy with and wanted to share the luck. So I’m sending him something else and in the process or relisting all the entrants. Second winner will be randomly chosen as soon as I can pop the range into random.org.
Edit: This is the winning post.
Oh, I see. Thanks for the update!
Nice set though
I’m in, thanks for the opportunity.
As far as something that intrigues me, or that is… something I’m interested in buying are those premium ratchets. They look comfy and stout.
I’ve been looking at these and would like to give them a try.
Looking at the catalog I see they have a 41 pc. screwdriver set on sale for $46.74. Great deal.
All my tools are craftsman. My son just bought his first home and I would love to be able to give him this as a housewarming gift>
I would use in my garage for assembling mini bikes for kids.
do all the bits fall out if you open it upside down?
Yes.
I think you can’t go wrong with Craftsman Tools to begin with. But MaxAxess is awesome. I think they’re better than the sets Snap – On offers with their
Low Profile sets!!
This wrench set is a good idea.
These things look like they would be very handy. I believe I need to sets, one for the trailer to work on the quads, it would definately lighten the toolbox. Other set in the garage for all the other tinkering.
