This is a PHENOMENAL deal, credit to GJ member Stickshift for the heads-up. Dewalt 20V max hammer drill and impact driver kit for $174 from Home Depot. Plus it ships for free! This even beats the Amazon deal from last week!
The combo kit (DCK285C2) comes with Dewalt’s compact hammer drill (DCD785), an impact driver (DCF885), two compact lithium ion batteries, a charger, and hard-shell case. You can find specs for the two drill/drivers in our Dewalt 20V Max comparison guide.

Note: As with some of HD’s other super-hot sales, this will likely sell out quickly. If you’re on the fence, place the order and then debate it, just to be safe. You can always return it without penalty if you change your mind. Also, you must add it to your cart to see the sale price!

That is a heck of a deal – If it wasn’t for the free 12v DeWALT LED light I got with my 12V Max combo Drill/Impact ( I picked it up for $143 OTD last August). I might have consider abandoning the 12v System.
Are you friggin’ kidding me? This is an awesome deal, of which I just took full advantage. I was in the market for a hammer drill and could use an impact drill to supplement the one in my Ridgid 12V jobmax kit. Couple that with a $25 gift card I had from my amex, and I walked out the “door” paying $164.23 out of pocket with tax included and “free” shipping. Thanks for the lead!
Damn! I don’t even need a drill or impact. I have craftsman c3 nicad stuff. Couldn’t help myself though. Killer deal!
BTW, i’m assuming the 1.5ah vs 3.0ah refers to the storage capacity of the battery? Are you able to buy 3.0ah batteries and use them on these drills?
Correct. A 1.5Ah battery has half the capacity of a 3.0Ah battery. Both 20V battery are interchangeable with any of Dewalt’s 20V tools. Some tools benefit more from greater capacity, such as the saws or rotary hammer, while others are best fit with the compact batteries, such as the compact drill/drivers.
Both battery types are available separately, so you can add to the kit as needed.
Update: deal looks to be dead at the moment. It’s worth checking back, though, as Home Depot has reanimated deals a couple of times in the past month.
So can you toggle the hammer setting on this drill?
I was originally going to get the normal Drill/Impact driver 20v combo, but the Hammer Drill combo seems to be popping up everywhere on sale for cheaper
I just checked our test-bench sample. The hammer setting on the compact hammer drill can be turned off via the adjustable clutch.
