We’re holding a rather unusual giveaway throughout the upcoming July 4th weekend. The rules are simple: take a look at Amazon.com, find some tools or related gear that you’d like to win, and tell us about them in a comment. There’s a $45 max limit, and the products must be sold or fulfilled directly by Amazon. A winner will be chosen on Tuesday, and the prize will be the tool(s) mentioned in their entry.
Additional winners may be chosen if the cost of the first prize fall well under $50. The first winner will be chosen randomly, and multiple entries are allowed. We may also draw additional winners from eligible entries in the future once our giveaway budget is replenished.
Those that don’t have any items on their wishlist can say “surprise me!”. If such an entry is selected as a winner, we’ll pick a cool prize for you!

I want to get a small set of rare earth magnets. I’ve been tinkering with my magnetic stud finder with laser project and I need a few more strong magnets to make it work correctly.
http://www.amazon.com/Magcraft-NSN0612-4-Inch-Magnets-6-Count/dp/B000SOE46E
I want a set of Knipex Plier Wrench
http://www.amazon.com/Knipex-8603180-7-Inch-Pliers-Wrench/dp/B000X4KP1C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1278003132&sr=1-2
I haven’t been able to find any locally, so I may just have to give up and order a set sometime.
Crescent needle nose pliers. I can’t find Amazon carrying the 7″ version, though (the last of my stolen tools to replace).
Streamlight Microstream flashlight. (the guys at the garage, seem to think these are the best compromise between length and battery availability)
Otherwise, surprise me.
Thanks
Very cool, very generous idea! Thanks! I could use a wrench roll:
http://www.amazon.com/Arsenal-5782-Canvas-Wrench-Roll-Up/dp/B001G8XIG8/ref=pd_cp_hi_2
I’m fed up with the plastic wrench holders that take up room in the box and spill the wrenches when you take them out of the drawer!
Cheers!
I want a Gedore hand impact driver set, because I could have used one of these many times in the past

I would like to win a Knipex 8603180 7-Inch Pliers Wrench from ToolGuyd and carried by Amazon.com.
I love Knipex pliers and they are always the first brand I reach for at work. However, I don’t have any Plier Wrench type of Knipex, but have always wanted a pair. They would be very handy on plumbing fixtures that might get marked or scratched by a lesser brand of pliers.
I have been on the hunt for a broad selection of torx bits. I have a small selection and it always seems like I don’t have the correct size (That and I’m tired of trying to kill the torx bolts with my screwdrivers).

I’ve been wanting a 24″ breaker bar for a while, and Gearwrench makes a nice looking one in the contest range:

Thanks Stuey, and good luck everyone!

I’ve been wanting Knipex cobra pliers. I hear they are excellent.

I had a Buck pocket knife that seemingly could never get lost. It might disappear for awhile, but eventually would be found on the floor of the truck under the seat, or the bottom of the laundry basket, etc. It seemed invisible to TSA people, as it never set off the scanner. Best of all, it cost me nothing, I found it at the end of my driveway, a little beat up, but worked well.
Then, it was gone, perhaps moving on to another fortunate soul to use for awhile.
This Klein Tools 44033 might not be a Buck, but it would fill the gap in my jeans pocket.

I want a 2.5″ core drill bit for punching a hole in my garage wall. I’m going to be installing a new 200 amp sub panel!

I have been wanting to get my hands on some wera laser tip screwdrivers. I need to update my pos Craftman hard handles.
Have never had any knipex stuff but there are lots of people who swear by them. I think these would be great
Or these
I am constantly reminded of how fortunate it makes you feel when you walk to the tool box, fish around and come up with something to solve the problem at hand. “Hey, now I can fix this.” I maintain two race cars, enjoy tinkering with cars in general and we live in an old house (most of it built 1926) that is full of interesting issues that require creative problem solving. I searched on wrenches and came up with 18,466 hits on just that one style. I might rust before I got through all that! Surprisingly, I scored two “I wannas” right quick. Stuff I’d buy if I saw them. One – an internal pipe wrench http://www.amazon.com/Superior-Tools-2-Inch-Internal-Wrench/dp/B000AO1IOI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1278096636&sr=1-1 because there’s a ton of old 1/2 pipe in the house and it never fails to have issues. I have a 1/2″ black iron air system in the shop too. On the cars, I’ve had the usual issues with stuck fasteners and a set of these Irwin extractors would be a go-to tool: http://www.amazon.com/Irwin-Industrial-394001-Bolt-Grip-Extractor/dp/B0000CCXVZ/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1278095568&sr=1-27 Both “when you need it, you NEED it kinda tools. Thanks, fun contest!

I’ve heard a lot about Wera’s laser tip screwdrivers and would like to try this set for myself:
Wera screwdrivers
Thanks Stuey!
After moving away to college and no longer having a shop to work in, I got board. Having neighbors so close along with strict housing rules prevented me from bringing in any sort of power tools (besides my trusty Dremel tool) into my room. While searching for hobby ideas I soon realized that a lot of traditional wood working projects could be completed in my small room with minimal tools or much disruption to the neighbors. This set of chisels would be a great help with upcoming projects.
