Over at Amazon, the Hitachi KC10DFL 12V cordless Li-ion kit, which includes a drill/driver with 3/8″ chuck and a compact impact driver, is currently priced temptingly low at a hair under $120. Given that the average retail price of the combo kit is $170 (via Google Products), this seems to be a a generous discount.
Now for the internal dilemma – do we start our holiday shopping spree with one of these kits, or wait for a deal on the Makita and Bosch kits that we’ve been eyeing?

That’s a great price. I think I would still go with the Milwaukee stuff just based on the variety of tools that are compatible with the battery.
I picked this set up before and I enjoyed it. I ended up returning because it just wasn’t enough juice to disassemble my motorcycle, but a great set to have around. Just as much juice as the bulky ones.
