Husky 48 in 1 Ratcheting Rotary Socket Wrench User Review

The other day we introduced (and ragged on) Husky’s new 48-in-1 ratcheting rotary dog bone wrench. I checked one out in store and really didn’t like the look or feel of the tool, and didn’t hesitate to share that impression with you.

But, perhaps I was a bit too harsh. My first impression of the tool was not in the least bit positive, but I typically try to give all tools the benfit of the doubt and consider their function and performance in addition to appearance. To be fair, following is a reader’s favorable early hands-on review of the tool.

In a comment to our original post, Jason said:

Honestly, I’d have to say don’t knock it till you try it. I got this wrench as a gift from my son on my birthday and have kept it as a fix-all in my trunk the last month or so. I got stuck out in the woods with boat problems and a flat trailer tire last weekend (fishing trip from hell) and this tool kept me from having to walk several hours in the Florida heat to find help.

It took care of several different bolt sizes and I also don’t have to worry about digging around for and/or losing different sized sockets as inevitably happens. Can’t say I can complain one bit about having this as my go-to emergency wrench.

Assuming that Jason is an honest reader and not a corporate shill, the Husky wrench saved his day. In the end, isn’t that exactly what the tool was designed for? The tool won’t win any beauty contests, but it looks like it might still be handy in a real pinch.

Thank you Jason, for your review!

I found this tool very useful for external bolt and nut combinations. I have use this tool very frequently, and found that the rivets that hold the tool together, will separate under too much pressure, however tool has a lifetime warranty
