I don't really find these prices to be excessive either, especially given that they're bundled with some of the more expensive accessories and attachments. If I had to guess, I would say that the mid-priced kit, the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-4000-3-34-120-Volt-Variable/dp/B002L3RUVQ/?tag=toolguyd-20" rel="nofollow">4000-3/34</a>, will be the most popular selling set. (That's also the one that I plan on upgrading to.) Actually, the pricing of this tool is fairly consistent with Dremel’s previous pricing of the 400 XPR.
