I have a drill very much like the one in the picture. It’s a Craftsman model 117.2350 dual speed built by Excel. Can you tell me about it? What year, where to get information, parts? It’s in exellant shape and only needs a power cord. I also have a CP drill that says it’s model AT. It has a 5/8″ chuck. I think it’s from the late 1930s or early 1940s. Any info on it would be great also. Thanks.

    Hi Ralph,

I don’t have the answers you’re looking for, but I image the guys over at Papaw’s Tool Talk Forum should be able to help in your search. Vintage tools are their specialty.

We have a Black & Decker, Cat No. U-400, 1/4″ Utility Drill, 115v, 2.0 amps, part No: 2487011, type: D, serial #215437. I need a chuck key, and drill bits for this drill. Can you tell me about it? What year, where to get information, parts? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanking u in advance.

Hi Julie, for a chuck key, you should be able to take the drill to a local hardware store and try out the different keys to see which fit best. As for drill bits, if it has an ordinary 3-point 1/4″ chuck, then I don’t see why it wouldn’t accept standard twist drill bits.
