Here are two examples of how I’m using the Schaller plastic boxes that we posted about yesterday. I still have quite a bit of organizing left to do with other drawers, but these are mostly done.

Many of these tools were previously dumped into blow-molded Craftsman drawer trays, and it was difficult to sort through the deep bins for exactly what I needed. Compartmentalizing the drawer in this way makes it much easier for me to pick out what I need, and the boxes themselves don’t take up much space.

As mentioned before, I also use the 2″ and 3″ deep bins for parts organization. This drawer is a work in progress, but it seems to be looking good thus far. I had been considering purchasing a second Akro Mils 20-drawer organizer or Durham-style trays for bulkier hardware, but these plastic bins are just so much more economical.
More photos will come when everything is nice and tidy, but if you have any questions or photo requests until then, feel free to ask.

Stuart,
Looks nice, I’m jealous. Mind coming over and taking a crack at my shop next?

Thanks! But if you saw the rest of my work areas, you wouldn’t say that. =) It’s been a work in progress for as long as I can remember.
