		<description>The main advantage of the surface level is that it can level in multiple directions without having to move it around in different directions, that&#039;s all. You can check X and Y directions at once via a single bubble, whereas with a traditional level you&#039;ll have adjust for each direction separately.</description>

That&#039;s the first thing I would grab if I had a fence post to level, and a table is big enough for a longer level.  I&#039;m not trying to be dense, but that&#039;s what popped into my head.  Is it the fact that can get get both axes level without having to move the tool, as you would with a torpedo?</description>
