Many popular tool brands are not standalone companies and are actually part of larger corporate families. We put together a quick guide that identifies which companies popular tool brands are affiliated with.
Please note that these are not full lists of brands each parent company owns. This list only highlights construction, DIYer, and industrial tool and tool-related brands.
This guide discusses the following parent companies: Bosch, Stanley Black & Decker, Fortive, Apex Tool Group, Tectronic Industries (TTI), Emerson, Werner Co., Illinois Tool Works (ITW), JPW (Wilton), Snap-on, Ideal, Newell Rubbermaid, Textron, and Delta PEC.
This information was accurate at the time of this posting, February 5th, 2014, and has been updated several times since then. Although rare, brand ownership changes from time to time. Please let us know if you discover an inaccuracy in this listing.
