ToolGuyd is pleased to announce that we have launched an Amazon astore. Amazon is by far our favorite retailer, given their wide selection, good (frequently great) prices, free super saver shipping, and lenient return policy. In fact, if you browse through the categories, you will see an almost random assortment and selection of tools – these are many of the tools that ToolGuyd’s contributors purchased from Amazon.
Once you have added items to your cart and are ready to checkout, the items will be transferred to your Amazon.com cart and you will be brought there to complete the transaction. I repeat, the transaction and all billing and shipping is direct through Amazon.com.
We plan on there being four main sections to the store – i) “as seen on ToolGuyd” to help you source tools discussed here, ii) “DealGuyd alerts” for great deals and those that may be too time-sensitive to write a normal entry about, iii) “ToolGuyd favorites” – this mostly includes tools that we personally purchased from Amazon, as well as several that we strongly recommend, and there is also iv) Amazon’s full searchable tool and hardware listing in case you need it.
Our reasoning for launching the astore is multifaceted. One of the main reasons is that we enjoy helping others find low prices and great deals on tools almost as much as we enjoy low prices ourselves. Another reason is that we know it can be difficult to select one tool from dozens of options – we can “Guyd” you by narrowing down some of the choices. Then, there is the obvious fund raising aspect.
