Wera’s new Koloss 1/2″ drive hammer ratchet has finally arrived! I received a sample from ChadsToolbox that I’m currently reviewing, but I just couldn’t wait that long to post some teaser pics of it. Check out the gallery at the end of this post!
First Impressions:
- Oh wow, that’s a comfortable handle.
- hmm, it’s pretty well balanced.
- WOW, the ratchet mechanism feels strong and solidly built. Wera may be onto something with their claims of the Koloss’s indestructibility!
The Koloss is currently priced at $110 via Chads’, and is a bit higher at $120 via Sears.
At least it’s finally clear that the Koloss isn’t just an elaborate April Fools Day hoax or Photo-chopped rendering!

And to those worried about the condition of the ratchet, don’t worry, it has now been reassembled and is in perfect working condition.
I tell you what, it may seem ridiculous to some but I would love to have this ratchet. I noticed that Sears sells it online but I am going to wait until I can get it on sale or with some other discount.
