GJÂ member fourfeathers pointed out that Amazon is currently offering a one-year subscription to Popular Mechanics for $6.99.
I subscribed to PopMech and another magazine via Amazon back in April, and didn’t run into any problems. It’s also worth mentioning that I haven’t noticed any increase in the amount of junkmail I’ve been receiving.

Popular Mechanics 12-Month Subscription via Amazon
Deal ends 12/18.

Aren’t you a PM contributer? No kickback subscription eh?
Stuart
Yep, wrote a few freelance pieces for their website. But no, there’s unfortunately no free subscription fringe benefit. Then again, maybe there is, but I didn’t ask.

I really like managing magazine subscriptions through Amazon, it’s nice to have everything all in one place. Usually it’s cheaper than subscribing through the individual magazines.
Unfortunately my PM subscription doesn’t run out until next June, I had renewed for 24 months through the magazine. I don’t think they’ll let me switch my subscription to Amazon and stack this on my current subscription, or am I wrong?
Stuart
I didn’t know that I could manage my subscriptions via Amazon, thanks for the tip!
I don’t think that you’ll be able to switch over to Amazon and then stack the subscriptions like that. I suppose you could always call Hearst to see if they can help you out, but it looks like this deal is only good for new subscriptions.

Sounds like it will let you renew. If you click on the details button, here’s what it says:
Renewing Your Subscription: If you are ordering as a renewal to the same name and address as the current subscription, the publisher will add the Amazon order to your current subscription. For example, if you have 5 issues left and you add 12 through Amazon, you will now have 17 issues left on your subscription. Please note that the expiration date in the Magazine Subscription Manager will not reflect if you were already on file with the publisher. We will work with the publisher to ensure that you still receive all of the issues left on your subscription.
Sounds good to me, I’m a PM subscriber and adding another year for $7 isn’t bad at all.

Thanks tiecher, I didn’t read the fine print.
I just renewed with this offer. We’ll see how it goes.
