Milwaukee-Right-Angle-Drill-Driver

Milwaukee very recently released a new M12 product – the 2415-21 cordless right-angle drill/driver. The main selling points of this driver are its super-compact size, 3/8″ chuck, speed control, 11-setting electronic clutch, and runtime battery gauge.

The only thing we read about Milwaukee’s right-angle drill/driver that we didn’t quite like is that the kit  only comes with one M12 lithium-ion battery.

The new right-angle driver is not yet available in-stores, but we searched around and found that it is available for pre-order via Ohio Power Tool for $139.

The head doesn’t swivel like the Bosch does.

True, but it has a 3/8″ chuck whereas the Bosch has a 1/4″ hex bit holder. I refuse to use 1/4″ hex shank drill bits.

On paper, the Milwaukee also has 25% more power than the Bosch.

Fundamentally speaking, the Bosch I-Driver and this new Milwaukee cordless RA drill are not exactly interchangeable.

Since I find myself needing a RA drill more than a RA driver, the Milwaukee version is a few places higher on my wishlist than the I-Driver.

What it comes down to is whether a swivel-head or standard chuck is a higher priority. In a perfect world, why not have both?!! (In case you’re wondering why I can never own both, it’s most certainly not because of my wife. Of course not.)

And now Bosch has come out with the 3/8″ chuck version plus other improvements … two 12 Max batteries and smart charger.

Yes, I’m actually pretty excited about the new Bosch PS11 Pivoting Drill, and will try to get my hands on one for review and comparison.
