Kershaw-E.T.-Knife-Open-Position

Kershaw’s E.T. external toggle knife is one sleek looking blade. Relatively lightweight at 3.7 ounces, the E.T. features a 6061-T6 anodized aluminum handle, and 3-1/4″ Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel blade with a bead-blasted finish. These are decent specs, but what really sets this knife apart from ordinary pocket folders is its unique toggle mechanism.

Photos do not do this knife justice – head on over to Kershaw’s website, and take a look at the 360° toggle action animation. There are also quite a few video clips on YouTube that show the knife’s quick toggle opening mechanism in action. This knife opens quickly, locks strongly and securely, and then closes quickly as well.

Kershaw’s E.T. can be clipped to a pocket or belt with its reversible pocket clip, and there is also a nifty carabiner opening that can be used to secure the knife to a belt loop or D-ring.

The E.T. is available in plain edge and partially serrated edge styles, and there is a rather sharp looking (forgive the pun) “urban camo” edition that substitutes a Tungsten DLC coating for the other knives’ bead-blasted finish.

Kerhsaw manufactures the E.T. knife in the USA (thumbs up!) and it is currently priced online at about $55-$65 and up.

Note: You should always check your local knife/weapon laws before considering carrying a pocket knife such as this one in public.

I’m not big into knives but that thing is totally bad-ass.
You’re right, photos don’t do it justice. Even the kershaw animation is kind of lacking. I thought the youtube vids were the coolest.

I saw one vid and it opened like a switchblade so definitely make sure it’s legal to carry

I wish some enterprising entrepreneur would pick up Kershaw’s tooling and start making the “original” E.T. again. Have y’all heard anything yet? ?
