Milwaukee M12 Cordless Palm Nailer Hits the Market

Milwaukee M12 Cordless Palm Nailer with RedLithium Battery

Milwaukee has released their new M12 cordless palm nailer. This is the first tool of its kind, and one of Milwaukee’s first to include a new backwards-compatible RedLithium battery. The nailer is designed to take the place of traditional palm nailers, which require air compressors and hoses for power.

I’m hoping that Milwaukee’s new cordless hammer performs better than the Ryobi Auto Hammer we reviewed a while back. While still decent tools, the Ryobi and Craftsman Hammerhead Auto Hammers do not quite perform as well as they should. Perhaps Milwaukee’s will be the first cordless nailer/hammer suitable for heavy duty use.

The M12 palm nailer is relatively compact and lightweight at 3.4 lbs. Well equipped for use in tight corners, it is also said to be powerful enough for even the most difficult nail-driving tasks. It features a battery fuel gauge, LED worklight, and hand strap.

Looks cool but doesn’t seem as compact as I first thought.

I’m not sure it uses the same mechanism as all the other auto hammers available.

There’s definitely a lot more meat behind the actual hammering part.
