Bosch PS21 and PS41 Driver and Impact Driver Combo

Over at Amazon, Bosch’s PS21 Driver and PS41 Drill Combo is currently $149 before $25 bonus coupon that comes off at checkout. Final price at checkout is $124, which is a heck of a great deal.

We reviewed Bosch’s PS21 and PS31 driver and drill-driver a while back and liked them a lot. The PS41 is also a pretty impressive performer, delivering a LOT of torque when needed.

There are quite a few other Bosch cordless tools and combos eligible for the $25 coupon, so you may want to check those out. If you want to add the PS31 drill (tool-only) to the combo, you can purchase it separately for about $85 after coupon.

I have had a PS31 for a year, and the chuck just began wobbling too much to use. But the Bosch Provantage 3-year warranty program is quite impressive. One phone call on Monday morning, and they’ve already shipped me a replacement drill (the defective one goes back in the shipping box, and back to Bosch). Cost? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. They take a credit card # in case you don’t ship the old drill back in 30 days.

I’m sorry to hear about your PS31 woes, but that does sound like very impressive customer service! It’s not often that companies will cross-ship warranty replacements, even with a credit card.

One year complete replacement of the tool. Two more years repair of the tool. Two years on the batteries.

That does seem like a good deal. Also, I know most of the guys who handle the service calls, and they always take good care of people. They will bend over backwards to make customers happy.

The replacement PS31 arrived today (phone call on Monday to Chicago, and it arrived Wednesday mid-day). It’s a brand-new tool, not a refurb. The chuck has less play, and even with a long bit, there’s very, very little runout visible. Nothing I’d worry about in a hand-held, hand-tightened chuck. My Panasonic 15.6v chuck is about as good as it gets, and this is comparable. (And it is better than the original was when new.)

I just saw that combo for $99 at two of my local Lowes stores.
