Narex bevel edge chisels have gained a solid reputation amongst beginner and advanced woodworkers alike, for their decent quality and reasonably low cost. Over at Highland Woodworking, a new crop of premium Narex chisels have popped up.
The new chisels appear to have a slimmer, more tapered side bevel, allowing for greater clearance. The handle has also been upgraded, from beech to hornbeam with brass ferrules. Like the recently discontinued Narex BE chisels, these chisels’ cutting blades are made from Rc 59 tempered chrome-manganese steel.
A 6-piece 1/4″ – 1″ set (these are nominal sizes because the true sizes are in metric widths), is priced at $100 and includes a leather tool roll.
