The Dewalt DWS780 12″ sliding miter saw is on sale at Amazon, for $499. This is their flagship model, normally priced at $599.

Sorry, it’s not eligible for Acme Tools’ 11% off coupon promo that ends today (11/13/18).
Also check out the DWS779, a “special buy” at $349. There’s also a new DWS779 and roller stand combo deal at extremely good pricing. I can’t tell you which to go for, but I can tell you that a lot of people are happy with the DWS779, and others want the LED shadow cutline system of the DWS780. If you wait, there will likely be a “buy the saw at full price, get a free folding miter saw stand” promo, or similar.
I’ve been looking for deals on the complete FlexVolt miter saw kit, but haven’t come across anything worth mentioning yet.
Bosch’s DDN181-02 18V cordless drill kit dropped in price to $89. It’s a very compact drill, and it comes with two batteries. It’s a good buy that might check off some of your compact cordless drill needs or wants.

There’s also a newer and more powerful Bosch 18V cordless drill kit, on sale for $99.
If you have a $100 budget, be sure to check out the other holiday season $99 drill kits here.
In a rare occurrence, Makita’s 18V sub-compact brushless drill and impact driver kit is on sale for $199.

There’s a chance it might be discounted further, or there will be promos on the next higher-up model. You can wait on this deal and see what happens, or take advantage of the already-low seasonal pricing and get a head-start on your holiday projects.
There are going to be a couple of wet/dry vacuum deals in the next few weeks. This one is on a Shop-Vac 5-gallon 4.5 peak HP stainless steel model, with 1.25″ accessories, 7-foot hose, and rear blower port.
It’s priced at $52. Most of the upcoming deals will be on larger 12-gallon or 16-gallon models. While not a HOT deal, this vac was $65 for a few months prior to the start of the month. If it’s exactly what you need, you’re saving $13.

P.S. The Dewalt 5.0Ah 2-pack and charger bundle is back, but at full pricing. When you look at the availability, it says it’ll be in stock November 21st, 2018. So… Black Friday deal? That would explain the super-low pricing we saw earlier in the month – maybe it was a Black Friday 2018 deal or other such promo that was activated too early. So, it’s not on sale anymore now, but it might be again soon. What do you think?

Please keep the requests coming! I’ll keep posting more tool deals I think you’ll be interested in, but if you have specific requests, I’ll add them to my active search.

Request: Cordless Dremel-alike. Milwaukee M12 preferred, are they ever gonna come out with a brushless version of their 2011-vintage rotary tool?
Request: Any cordless vac that can take both internal dust bags and a HEPA filter. I don’t have a lot to clean up, but when I do, I really don’t want to breathe it. Currently I’m looking at modding an Atrix Omega, which takes the same filters as the 3M 497.

The Ryobi 6gal shop vac that’s cordless can take a dust bag and a HEPA filter. I prefer the 3-4.5 gallon bags over the 5-7, but you do lose some volume, then you can use the standard ridgid green HEPA filter, that’s how I currently (still) have mine set up. I put some info about it on the forums a while ago, here:

Maybe that helps you in your search.

Sorry, I’ve got nothing there, but I’ll be on the lookout.

Request: planer and/or jointer. Not sure they go on sale for the holidays.
Stuart
There are going to be deals on large equipment, probably some select models via woodworking suppliers.

That Makita subcompact kit is a good deal. But, some Home Depot stores still have the Special Buy 3pc kit (SKU 1002582448) that includes the subcompact reciprocating saw – clearanced for $150, down from $269. I’m trying really hard not to end up with one. Or many.

HD’s clearance aisle can be dangerous for my wallet – but luckily the good deals are often gone before I get there
Nate
I picked up one of these at $150 and went back later to possibly get another one and all 5 were gone probably to be sold on Ebay.

I’m looking for a deal on a decent quality 1/4” shank router bit set to go with my new cordless router
Also searching for deals on either m18 2.0 batteries or m12 2.0 or 3.0 compacts (for heated gear)
Stuart
For that, I’d look at a Freud set, or at Whiteside, and I’d look to BF and CM percent-off deals. That’s what I did last year – I took advantage of Carbide Processor’s deal to get some Whiteside and Southeast Tool assortments.
ktash
Hartville Tool carries Whiteside and sometimes runs sales for 10-15% off sitewide, often over holidays. They also have free shipping.

Amazon is showing a DCB205 2 pack for $119, not prime but has free shipping. Amazon is also showing a DCB205 2 pack for $159. Supposedly the same batteries but if you look at them the printing is different. Can anyone tell my why? Is one set an older version that could potentially fail quicker due to age? $119 for a 2 pack of 5.0 batteries is a good deal. Doesn’t have the charger as that crazy deal a few days ago but I don’t think that one is coming back.
Stuart
Last week, it was $109 for the 2-pack plus a charger. https://toolguyd.com/hot-deal-dewalt-20v-max-5ah-battery-2-pack-charger/
It looks like Dewalt recently updated the labeling/styling of their battery packs. Photos of the new styles are showing up on some places online, but since the model number isn’t changing, images probably won’t be updated for existing listings and product pages. At least, that’s my guess.

If you’re looking for a subcompact drill and driver with plenty of oomph, I highly recommend the Makita set. It’s my most used drill and driver by far.
