Acme Tools sent me a message that they had “leaked” their Black Friday 2016 and Cyber Monday sales flyer. Someone should tell them that an official release isn’t a leak, but I think the deals are good enough that we can forgive them.
These Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2016 promos kick off 11/24/16 and are valid thru 11/28/16. Or you could just call them Thanksgiving Weekend Deals.

On the page the tough system link leads to, only five of the items on the page are valid for the 15% off discount. The carrier, three of the cases, and the tote. None of which I had any interest in. All of the items marked new are excluded.
JMG
Missed one. The organizer is also included in the sale.
David Funk
I got the racking system in the store 15% off.
Dan
It’s hard to read the image, but I think the clamp deal is only on two models: 70424 (24″) and 70431 (31″). Over the past year I have been kicking myself for not buying more of the Jet clamps during 2015 black friday sales. This year, Acme seems to be the only one doing any sales, and, disappointingly, the regular price of the clamps has gone up and the discount is smaller! Grr. It’s my own fault for not buying more!
Stuart
Sorry, I missed that! Yea, it looks like only the 24″ and 31″ clamps are on sale. Bummer.
fred
ToolsPlus says they are doing a 15% off on Jet (woodworking machines and accessories) starting 11/25. I’m not sure if it includes clamps
Matt
Woodcraft is doing the same sale on Jet and Powermatic. They had started las week and it runs through the 28 th.
Dan
I don’t know if the 15%-off applies to clamps, but last year they were 50%-off. This year, in Acme’s ad, they are 40%-off.
Derek
Where do you see the Jet clamps are 40% off?
Dan
Heh. You’re right. Somehow I got it in my head that the “20%” meant 40%! Man, that’s even less of a deal!
Benjamen
Yeah, I have to say this leak is pretty weak :>)
I got the holiday gift guide in the mail Saturday (as a regular customer) and as far as I can tell these are the same deals. Not that they are bad deals.
Tim
I just got that Delta drill press from Home Depot 2 weeks ago for 875 and free shipping to store.

Those Dewalt screwdrivers have a hilariously ill-conceived design element. See the yellow band near the tip? The description says “Torsion zone flexes to reduce cam-out.”
This is a recent trend in impact-rated power screwdriver bits. The narrower section is more able to twist. It’s a torsional spring, it spreads the impact over time. Sort of like using torque sticks with an impact wrench.
I’m no expert, but it seems to me that in a manual screwdriver, a more flexible *manual* shaft would be worse, not better.
Stuart
If you’re bending that torsion zone with manual effort, that’s energy that otherwise might have damaged your screwdriver tip, or the fastener head.
The energy isn’t lost, it’s simply converted to elastic energy.
But I agree, it’s a little weird to see this on a manual screwdriver. I wouldn’t buy these for that feature, I’d buy them for the grippy handles.
That feature is present on these drivers so that you can use the same screw-holding accessories that are available for the power bits.
Ben reviewed them here: https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-max-fit-screwdriver-set-review/
Zack
Ah, that makes sense. And this $10 set does come with a magnetic screw-holding sleeve. I had not realized that the torsion zone doubled as an accessory interface. That’s cool!
Benjamen
I quickly measured some screwdrivers and impact bits and here’s what I got.
Maxfit Screwdriver: 0.25″ hex to 0.21″ round (0.4″ long)
Felo #2 round shaft: 0.23″
Felo #1 round shaft: 0.17″
Milwaukee shockwave bit: 0.25″ hex to 0.18″ round (0.75″ long)
This is just a small sample yes, but hexagonal screwdrivers shaft are thicker than round than round screwdrivers. And torsion zones in bits are thinner and longer.
Not to mention impact bits are an entirely different type of steel (or at least heat treated and hardened differently) than a regular screwdriver shaft.
I think whatever torsion zone effect the rounded area of the Maxfit screwdrivers has is minimal. It is simply there as a place for the magnet to lock into.
David F
Its just so the magnet fits on there.

anyone else see the DS450 for 29.99
