This presents me with a dilemma – I want the m18 router – and HD’s deal where you get the router, two 4.0 batteries, a charger and a bag is what I’ve been looking at – it out of stock. I have a 10% coupon at HD and normally I’d wait or visit some of the stores that say “low stock” and see if I can find it hidden somewhere. Before tax $180 basically.

But Acme matches the 10% coupon and has the router cheaper – and even cheaper refurbished. So it would be $162 or $117 (refurb) which is lower in total.

Normally I’d say wait for HD to get them back in stock (promotion runs through January) – but $63 less gets me the (refurbished) router – and I already have many many batteries how many more do I really need?

      General advice:

If it’s an out-of-stock deal, buy/order now, and then think about it. Place a different order and cancel the backordered one if you decide to go the other way.

This is to protect you from having the decision be made for you due to a particular deal selling out or overselling beyond what can be fulfilled in the near future.

Yeah, the problem is HD won’t let me backorder – so I’m leaning toward the $117 solution (as I need a handheld router soon) – and the batteries are just a bonus that I don’t really need.

It’s really nice and I did look at it long and hard -but I already have a sander.

But a second backup sander is perhaps worth it? I dunno!

I should have ordered the HD deal early last week – you can always return if necessary.
