Over at Acme Tools, they’re running a 4th of July deal this week, where you can save 10% on orders of $349 or less, and 15% on orders $350 and up.
I keep flip-flopping between buying a Fein 14″ saw, and Dewalt’s, but this deal drops both to lower-than-anywhere-else pricing.

Orr… maybe I’ll buy some more of the small Packout organizers that I’ve been meaning to get. The discount also looks to work on some of the Fluke meters on my shopping list. And I’ve been liking the USA-made Dewalt screwdriver I picked up during one of the last Acme Tools sales events.

I assume you are talking about the Fein 14″ metal cutting saw. I have also been looking at both the Dewalt and Fein saws for metal cutting and I’m leaning towards the Fein. I like the blade brake and the split blade guard as well as overall good reviews on the Fein which the Dewalt does not have. Also I just saw the Fein for a little less, $460, over at CPO.
Stuart
Its $467 at Acme, but that’s before 15% coupon, which takes it down to $397.

The saw had a good reputation when it was called a Jancy MCCS14 . I’m not sure that Fein’s changed anything since they bought out Jancy. I’m sure you know that cutting metal in a chop saw or even with a band saw like a Doall can be tough on blades if you do not orient the work correctly and/or allow chatter. Trying to cut across the flat of a piece of stock can be tough on the blade, With angle irons we’d always orient the piece with the corner up. In all cases its worth taking it easy.
BTW for what its worth (probably not much) – I think the Dewalt is made in China and the Fein is made in Taiwan

Boom. New Milwaukee chainsaw. Ships 7/16. Think the original date a few weeks back was 7/6. Either Milwaukee missed that date or there are a lot of preorders.
Anyhow, thanks for the tip!
Adam
Many of the new tools are available for pre-order and can use the promotion. The Gen3 Impact/H Drill, Super Sawzall, Super Circular, 7”/9” Grinder, and of course chainsaw.
Stephen
Nice, thanks for the heads up. I’ve been waiting for a deal like this on the new Milwaukee M12 Fuel ratchet. Now it’s mine!

I got a hydraulic press from Harbor Freight the other day… anyone have a good recommendation for dies on the Acme site for pressing bearings?
Maurice
Doesn’t look like promo is working for Makita stuff, eh? Tried adding 36v chainsaw and no discount applied.
Stuart
Lots of Makita stuff is excluded.

Happy Independence Day
I just bought a Makita XMU04Z grass shears – $99.99 – with $10 off using the promo code – making it $89.99 for the bare tool.
Yesterday my wife complained that her handheld battery-powered (internal hard wired battery cells) grass clippers (7-year old Gardena 8805) needed to be charged more and more often – not allowing her to get through even a small trimming job around flower beds. She also complained that the blades were no longer cutting effectively.
I had file-sharpened the blades previously – but they are now a bit worn down. A look on eBay found a new blade set (from Germany) and replacement (Cameron Sino brand) batteries for about $30 each. I decided that for $30 more she’d have a new Makita and use one of my Makita batteries. We’ll see how the Makita works out.
fred
I probably should have shopped around – it sells for $77.99 on Amazon

I’m trying to resist buying a Bosch router and/or jigsaw. I’ve gotten to ‘complete order’ and backed out twice now, but I’m leaning towards the site again.
RKA
You probably won’t see another 15+% until Black Friday, does that help? 🙂
satch
ANY of the top Bosch jigsaws is a fantastic bargain at 10% off. I use no other brand of jigsaw. Tried ’em all except for the look-how-much-I-paid-for-this Festool model. I have NEVER felt as if I needed some improvement in the product that would lead me to paying nearly twice as much as the Bosch.

Meh, Bosch(and huge list of other products) is not covered by the discount. Still, discounts on anything you buy is a good thing.
Eric
I added some wanted but not needed DeWalt stuff until I hit the 15% cap. Ended up with the tough system radio, cooler, and shop rack and the combo inflator.
Hb
I’m a little late to this, but does anyone know or recall if DeWalt’s $500 jobsite table saw was discount eligible? We’re trying to decide if it’s worth it to wait for another Acme sale.
Stuart
They *might* have been included, maybe not the FlexVolt version.
I posed the full exclusions for their 2018 Tax Day promo, maybe that helps? I don’t see any of their table saws mentioned there, but there can sometimes be unpublished price-fixed exclusions.
