Adjustable Wrench with Built-in Ratchet

Take a look at this KR Tools adjustable wrench with built-in 1/4″ drive ratchet that we came across. Quite a few thoughts come to mind, but at no point did we look at the tool thinking “boy, we could really use a tool like that.”

We’re quite sure that some people would be able to put such a tool to good use, but quite frankly, we would prefer standalone ratchets and adjustable wrenches.

For a while I wanted to get one. I think tools like these are good for a travel box, or motorcycle riders that carry tools with them.
I’ve seen them at Northern Tools.
I believe Sears also sells this brand, in those big cardboard bins that they bring out during the holidays.

The Amazon review is funny – the wrench is described as “not snap-on quality”

Even for a space limited motorcycle tool kit, if one can fit several sockets and hand tools into a compartment, they should be able to fit in a 4″ or 6″ adjustable wrench without much issue as well.

My problem with this type of tool is the over all size. Plus the fact that the bulges required for the alternate system make it more likely to be unusable in tight places,

I haven’t worked on bike engines for a while but I remember having to modify a lot of tools to get in tight spots. Or else remove half of the bike to get to one bolt.
