Every now and then I come across a woodworking workbench so beautifully made, so inspiring, that my jaw just drops in amazement.

What’s better than a well-crafted and functional workbench? A detailed and well described workbench project log, such as Darnell Hagen’s over at his blog The Way I Wood!

To fully appreciate Darnell’s work, you’re going to want to check out the entire log yourself. You can start at the very beginning, or head on over the the completed workbench gallery.

Following is a taste of some of the eye-candy found in Darnell’s worklog as he constructed his new beech workbench. The masterpiece took several months to complete, and weighs in at 460 lbs, 600+ with tools.

That is a beautiful work bench. I wouldn’t mind being the person that inherited it in a hundred years.

You are very welcome Darnell. It truly is a future heirloom. It would be awesome to see it in 100 years.
