Amazon kicked off new Black Friday Week tool deals today, adding more promos to their ongoing Black Friday specials.
A lot of these discounts seem to be limited-time flash sales (lightning deals), presumably designed to hurry shoppers into making their purchasing decisions. This type of tactic tends to work, as there’s no telling which deals are limited and which might repeat.
As usual, I’ve sorted through the promos and sales to find the tools, promos, and best deals I’d be more inclined to buy.

Anyone use Drill America bits?
fred
My experience is now very old with them. They (Dewitt Tool Co.) used to offer a pretty mixed bag of drill bits, reamers etc. They would rebadge and mark-up Huot drill indexes. We’d order a batch of same-size drill bits from them (say screw-machine length cobalt) and get ones from different sources (USA and India). The last batch of reamers we bought from them were from China. Our tool room guy – who sharpened bits and took care of inventory – much preferred Cleveland, Chicago Latrobe and Greenfield – but times and quality may have changed.

Man I worked at DeWitt many years ago. They weren’t the most honest when it came to “American made”. They did some shady stuff with a buffer…
Their Carbide line was solid though. That was all legit.

Oh I hadn’t seen that pony table before, I really like it has adjustable height, I’m a big guy and most saw horses/tables are always too low, like being able to raise them up a few extra inches, much nicer on the back.
BG100
I see the Fluke 117 included in the sale. It’s got a built in non contact tester, nice for solo residential work.
BG100
Oops, my comment was supposed to be in reply to Saulac’s question about multimeters. Fat fingers I guess.
Don Julio
The Pony work table is awesome. Highly recommended.

Was this subliminal: “Skil Compact Brushless FLOP Drill”? Lowes has the 12v kit $10 cheaper than Amazon in my area.
Stuart
I’m seeing a $20 higher price for the Lowe’s 12V Max kit (vs 20V Max for Amazon).
KokoTheTalkingApe
The FLOP startled me too!
Stuart
Test to see who’s reading carefully. =)
Saulac
What is most popular Fluke multimeter with the residential electricians? I am ready for a good meter after so many cheap ones.
Conrad
I have a fluke 323 that has been great for a few years of use. It has the amp measuring clamp that is useful to find circuits and high draw devices.
S
Most electricians will at a minimum look for true RMS readings, and amp clamp.
Most of flukes lower end amp clamp meters hit these points.
The next step up.is aeter capable of a/c and d/c modes, inrush and high/low readings, and a backlight are the most common next step up in features.
This set of features tends to get pricey really fast. Especially with the fluke name attached to it.
Personally, after 3 consecutive fluke meter failures–2 the test probes terminal screws were loose and failed to see any voltage on a 480v circuit(deathly bad!), and 1 just decided ‘0v’ was ’74v’ all the time.
I bought a Flir meter with all the same features for half the cost but none of the prestige. other than the fact that it uses 9(!) AAA batteries and is constantly nagging me about low batteries, it’s been rock solid and trustworthy in every reading I’ve used it for, which is far more important to me anyways.
Rick
I see that the 10 piece power tool combo from Greenworks that you panned less than a month ago (https://toolguyd.com/greenworks-cordless-power-tools-attention-question/) is now an Amazon Black Friday deal, reduced from $999 to $499!
KokoTheTalkingApe
That Fieldmaster SAK page now says “Price higher than normal” and “Consider these alternative items”. The only Fieldmaster offered for sale is from a third party, and costs about $70! Is this Amazon’s new way of telling me they’re sold out?
KokoTheTalkingApe
Aha. But this page
https://www.amazon.com/13713-3-Offiziersmesser-Huntsman-schwarz/dp/B015PAU6YE/?th=1
shows the same knife for $45, 14% (they claim). (And the black and camo versions are a few dollars less.)
So maybe they changed their mind about making it a Black Friday deal?
Stuart
That’s a different tool.
Fieldmaster: screwdriver
Huntsman: corkscrew
Stuart
Looks like they sold out. I’m not even seeing any 3rd party prices.
S
For those interested in the olight arkfeld, I’d instead highly recommend this knockoff.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F8QKCPTJ
It’s $40 for a 2-pack, with 3 lighting modes. Main light, side light, and UV light.
Important to me, it has a glass front lense, where the arkfeld doesn’t. I use the UV a lot for vehicle fluid detection, but it also means I tend to clean my lights with brake cleaner, which the arkfeld doesn’t like.
The battery percent display is a little more refined than the 4-dots on the arkfeld as well.
It’s been $40 for at least 3 weeks now, though is now currently listed as a black Friday deal.
Stuart
Do you really want to buy no-name knockoff products that have lithium-ion batteries?
I stick to reputable brands, and prefer UL-rated products where possible.
Tony
Meh, my casino players card collection points to me being a gambler
Don Julio
The Workpro blue and red 6 pc socket rail set is also 15% off, but a little better value at $37.39. That works out to $6.23/rail vs $7.08 in the 3 pc sets.

@Stuart – Have you ever noticed seasonal discounts on short (6 to 10ft) UL listed 15A 125V electrical extension cords? Do you have any favorite brands?
Stuart
I don’t believe I have. On Black Friday and maybe Cyber Monday there are usually deals on cord reels, but I don’t think I’ve seen short extension cords.
