We put together a neat way to scour Amazon for big saving on tools. You know, the types of deals that are inexplicably good and sometimes fleeting. Although we coded the search boxes for our own use, we figured there’s no harm in sharing it with you.
Search for Deeply Discounted Tools on Amazon:
Parameters are set so that the default search category is tools & hardware, and that only brands or tool types eligible for Free Super Saver or Amazon Prime shipping are included in the search.
Quick Tool Sale Search on Amazon:
This quick search is similar to the one above, and lists a number of popular brands and tool types to choose from, as well as additional discount levels.
Tip: Selecting only the desired discount level before clicking “go” will search for ALL TOOLS discounted by that amount. This applies to both search methods.

Note: Sometimes you might see unexpected results for a given search. The problem usually isn’t with the search, but Amazon’s search filter. For example, a search for a particular brand and 70%-off discount might lead to a list of full-price items. This is because Amazon’s filter sees the product as being at least 70% off the list price, which is sometimes bogus. This is discouraging for us too.
