It looks like Amazon is trying to clear out leftover inventory of this Dewalt 20V Max XR series cordless oscillating multi-tool kit. Or maybe this is just some kind of end of season bonus deal.
For what I’m guessing is a limited time, as Amazon doesn’t provide much details, you can save an extra $10 off the price of this kit, which is already a “special buy” promo.
The Dewalt DCS356C1 kit comes with the XR series brushless oscillating tool, a compact battery, charger, tool bag, and a couple of starter accessories for $99.

This same kit is typically $99 for a couple of months before and after Black Friday, and again around Father’s Day and summer tool deals and sales events.
Now, with this surprise extra $10 savings, the price drops to $89 at checkout.

Here’s a full screen capture, showing that the kit is being sold and shipped from Amazon directly.
Amazon says they sold 10K+ in the past month, and so maybe they’re trying to clear a couple thousand more out of their warehouses.
Price at Checkout: $89
Update 7/24 at 10pm ET: It seems that Amazon is no longer offering the extra savings.

There’s no coupon code to enter, and nothing extra to click. I’m seeing the same added discount offer in a private browsing window, and so it’s also not limited to Prime subscribers.
As far as I can remember, I have only ever seen this kit at $99, and maybe more in between promo and “special buy” periods. $89 seems like an excellent price for what you get, especially given the $100+ price for the tool-only which “reviewers” and “shopping experts” keep describing on mass media sites as “a steal.”
If over $100 on the tool-only is a “a steal,” what does that mean for the kit that’s now $89 instead of its months-long promo price of $99?
Amazon doesn’t say if this is a limited time or limited quantity offer, and so I’m thinking this is a “buy first, think later” type of deal.
I wonder if the way Amazon is processing the discount – only at checkout – is done to comply with Dewalt MAP (minimum advertised price) policies.

Well, $89 I mean, I just bought that one deal you listed a few ToolGuys back..prime day kit for $119. Which is this same tool, plus a sanding kit with attachments. I don’t think its a value now, since that “sanding pad, some sand paper and a case” are not worth $30. Maybe $10 -$15.
Still $89 and how is typical price $122 when the value kit was less at $119?
Getting shit for shit vibes when Amazon lists item prices, along with the same for HD… and curious what is the true cost, along with, is there a new model coming and why these are so cheap now? Or something else?
Stuart
That other kit is only discounted maybe 2 or 3 days a year. It’s over $200 right now – https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-Oscillating-Multi-Tool-Variable-DCS356D1/dp/B00SOU6LR4/?tag=toolguyd-20 .
This one is typically $99 for many months out of the year.
I know nothing about any new models. Frankly, I think this is Amazon trying to move however many more they still have in warehouses.
Common impression: WOW, you save 55% at Home Depot, and Amazon’s deal price is even better!
But if you ask me, $99 is the true price for this kit, and no one should ever spend $1 more. An additional $10 off makes this a deal, and the “save $120.09” that HD claims and whatever Amazon says shouldn’t be taken at face value.

In my opinion, you got the “best” deal on the best version/kit of this tool. The $119 kit includes the depth stop attachment which is useful for certain operations, not sold separately (as far as I know), and expensive to purchase/assemble from individual replacement parts.
Stuart
Yes. That deal (or similar) only pops up on Amazon for Prime Day and either BF or CM, usually in limited quantities or for a very limited time. https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-xr-cordless-oscillating-tool-kit-prime-day-deal-2025/

CamelCamelCamel price history shows that Amazon had this kit back in January for $79.
$89 is still a good deal as the history shows it rarely drops below $99.

Yeah, I picked up this same kit from Lowes for $89 earlier this year. Effectively $99 is the regular price and $89 is a 10% off sale, I wouldn’t call it ‘clearing out’.
This tool does ok for me and obviously there’s preference between the variable trigger and switch-and-knob camps, but some people note newer competitors can have more aggressive arcs.

That $10 off deal is gone from Amazon.

Thanks! Maybe it’ll come back – I’ve seen that happen before.
