Dewalt Builders Level and Tripod Package

Over at Amazon, today’s deal of the day features a couple of Dewalt products, mainly layout tools and bundles.

  • Dewalt DW089K Self-Leveling 3-Beam Line Laser
  • Dewalt DW090PK 20X Builder’s Level Package with Tripod and Rod
  • Dewalt DW088K Self-Leveling Cross Line Laser w/ DW0881 1/4-Inch Laser Tripod
  • Stanley 84-096 5-Inch Needle Nose Pliers

Buy Now(via Amazon)

Deal ends at 3am ET 1/18/2018, unless supplies sell out sooner.

Three of the deal items are line lasers and related bundles, and there’s also a Stanley pliers deal. While none are what I would consider compelling impulse buys, maybe there’s a new laser level on your shopping list, and these deals are of interest.

All you really have to know is that you should NEVER look into the emitter.

They can be a life saver for remodeling projects in older homes. The demo videos all show them in brand new unfinished houses being used to install kitchen cabinets/counters, etc….and for that, they’re almost redundant.

But on my 90+ year old house where NOTHING is plumb or square, I simply wouldn’t know how to really do it without one (a cross-line laser, anyway).

Which is my only point; they’re the opposite of the ‘smart’ way to do certain things, they just make certain tasks a whole lot easier.

$157 for a optical level, tripod and rod seems like an excellent (cheap) price if the level is accurate and rugged.

@Yeti – I thought that when I bought my Disto D810 I was going to have to do a lot of practice and homework to get up to speed. While I probably still only use a fraction of its capabilities, I found that I got up to speed pretty quickly with the functions I needed and the ones my wife wanted for landscape work. Some simpler laser distance instruments may even be more intuitive and easier to lean how to use.

Its an incredible price. Tripod alone would fetch that much up here

I should have looked at the lasers listed – now see that they are not distance measuring instruments – so my comments about my Disto were off-topic.

No professional Framer can do without at least a 5 point cross line laser, preferably emitting a green beam…..these days.

I’ll be tiling the kitchen splash-back and assuming 5 point cross laser is overkill when all I need is a couple of axis, or just plain old 7ft level?

      Hard to say.

I always like excuses for buying new tools, but will you have any future projects where you can put a laser back to use?

That’s it, future projects, I almost pulled the trigger on the Bosch laser in one of your recent posts. I wish I did now. But I did end up buying a few things on the list of tools you bought. Thanks.
