BatteriesPlus Rayovac Recall Sept 2012

BatteriesPlus is expanding their Ni-Cd battery pack recall to include about 65,200 additional Ni-Cd and NiMH Rayovac-branded cordless tool battery packs. The packs are being recalled due to a potential explosion hazard.

Since the first recall there have been 3 new reports of exploding batteries, with one incident resulting in injury to a consumer’s finger.

The recalled battery packs were sold as replacements for Black & Decker, Bosch, Dewalt, Makita, Lincoln, Milwaukee, Panasonic, Ryobi, and Skil packs. The battery packs ranged from 2.4V to 18V with varying capacities.

If you bought a battery pack at BatteriesPlus between June 2008 and July 2012 and the part numbers begin with CTL, stop using them immediately and contact BatteriesPlus about how to return the packs for store credit.
