We’re closing in on Black Friday 2020 fast, and it’s at this exact time of year when all of the questions flood in: Which of these tool deals are any good? Which of these deals should I buy? Help!?
Here, I’m going to focus on the top 10 Home Depot Black Friday Tool Deals.

ToolGuyd partnered with Home Depot for 2 things – first, to sort out just a couple of tool deals to spotlight in a post, and second, for a sponsored placement in our deal reminders listing at the top of the page.
I might have bitten off more than I could chew here. The top 10 best deals? The top 25 deals might have been easier. But, I’ll give this a try.
Here are the Home Depot Black Friday deals that held my attention the strongest, and in some cases won over part of my holiday season tool budget.
1) Dewalt FlexVolt Advantage Cordless Power Tool Bundles
The holiday shopping season is full of entry-level tools and value-centric combo kits, and so it is rare to see specially priced bundles that not only give you premium brushless cordless power tools, but the latest and greatest releases cordless tech. That’s what we have here with these Dewalt 20V Max FlexVolt Advantage promo bundles
Take your pick – each kit bundle is $199. And, keep in mind that each bare tool is regularly priced $179 (hammer drill) or $199 (all the others), and that a 6Ah battery retails for $159. This is a very good deal

2) FREE Bonus Cordless Power Tool Offers
This one is easy – buy a cordless power tool starter kit or combo kit, get 1 or 2 FREE BONUS tools. There are different “buy this” and “get that” bonus tool options for Dewalt 20V Max, Milwaukee M18, Makita 18V, and Ridgid 18V systems.
We broke it down in the following post, along with a couple of additional cordless power tool kit options for you to choose from:
Home Depot FREE Bonus Cordless Power Tool Deals (Holiday 2020) – Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid
3) Milwaukee Shockwave Screwdriver Bit Set
This Milwaukee 70pc Shockwave impact-rated screwdriver bit set remains the best screwdriver assortment deal of the season, and might even be the best deal assortment I have ever seen.
It offers a wide range of useful bits, and not just the typical Phillips #2 and Torx T25 screwdriver tip sizes you’ll find in bulk quantities in other assortments.
And the best part – it’s just $9.88 and with free shipping! If you need any screwdriver bits, this assortment is an unbeatable deal.
4) Husky Tool Cabinet
Home Depot will have several Husky tool box promotions for the Black Friday 2020 holiday shopping season, and this is the one I would consider most for personal use.
The work top measures 46″ long by 24″ wide, and the cabinet has 9-drawers each with ball bearing slides rated to 100 lbs per drawer. There’s a power strip on the side, equipped with AC outlets and USB charging ports. The deep drawers have double drawer slides for 200 lb load capacity.
There are a lot of nice touches here, such as the wood top and color-matched handle and cord wrap brackets. The drawers have a latch retention system to ensure they stay closed when you want them closed.
You get a full-width drawer up top for your frequently used items, 6 shallow drawers, and 2 deep 9″ drawers for power tools and other bulk items.
There are several color options, but since this mobile workbench is in such high demand, I’m only seeing gloss blue available online and grey in stores.
At my store, when I took this photo last week, there were 2 shoppers also ogling the tool boxes, and it seemed that one of them wanted to buy the display model off the floor right then and there.
There are other options – see Home Depot’s Black Friday 2020 sales flyer for more.
Price: $398
5) Klein Electrical Tool Sets
There are two very good Klein hand tool deals right now – a 3pc electrical testing kit for $25, and a 3pc screwdriver and nutdriver kit for $30.

6) Dewalt Drill Bit Set
I don’t know how they arranged for this, but you can buy this Dewalt 14pc drill bit set, with sizes from 1/16″ to 1/2″, for $9.97, AND with FREE SHIPPING.
It’s available in stores as well, and online with free no-minimum shipping? Buy a set and think about it later, at least that’s what I did. And after thinking about it, I’m leaning towards buying a second set.
These are black oxide drill bits with an added coating, and with a 135° split point to prevent walking. And, it comes with a nice clear-lid case.
No gimmicks, no catch, just a solid 14pc drill bit set at incredible pricing.
7) Dewalt Right Angle Attachment + Bit Set
This is another “how can they sell this for so low?!” type of Black Friday deal.
You get a Dewalt right angle attachment for your drill, and a 35pc MaxFit screwdriver bit set, all impact-rated.
The right angle attachment by itself is regularly $20 and on sale for $18 at Home Depot right now. But, this set with right angle attachment and 35pc bit set is $14.88? Okay! I bought one on the spot.
8) Modular Tool Boxes!
It’s time that you organized your tools!
Home Depot has 3 different systems on sale, by Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Ridgid.
Dewalt ToughSystem 2.0 3pc Tool Box Combo: $149
Buy the Dewalt ToughSystem 2.0 if you want a sturdy and easy to use system with decent capacity and strength.
Buy Now: Small Tool Box
Buy Now: Medium Tool Box
Buy Now: Rolling Tool Box
Milwaukee Packout 3pc Tool Box Combo: $179
Buy into the Milwaukee Packout tool box system if you want a little extra versatility. Milwaukee Packout now has many more options that competing systems. These tool boxes are extremely strong and durable, and personally, I have come to really favor their front-sliding tool box latching system.
Buy Now: Tool Storage Crate
Buy Now: Large Tool Box
Buy Now: Rolling Tool Box
Ridgid PRO Gear Tool Box 3pc Combo: $98
Ridgid’s modular tool box system is a good compromise between versatility and affordability. You won’t find fancy spring-action latches or many other add-on options beyond what you see here, but these tool boxes are well designed, convenient, strong, durable, and unbeatably priced.

9) Milwaukee M18 Brushless Drill or Impact Driver Kit – $99
I’m sneaking more tool deals into the listings because I simply cannot choose. Cordless drill kit or impact driver kit? BOTH are very good deals.
This promo kit features Milwaukee’s M18 compact brushless drill kit, bundled with a 2.0Ah battery, charger, and tool bag.
It is ALWAYS a very good deal at $99. This is one of those rare $99 pro brand cordless drill kit deal that includes a regular-line brushless drill and a 2.0Ah battery.
or, maybe you already have a good cordless drill and were looking for a compact brushless impact driver.
Also Consider: Milwaukee M18 FUEL + Packout Special Buy
I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel impact driver and Packout tool box deal, model 2853-22PO.
You get their premium multi-speed impact wrench, (2) compact 3.0Ah batteries, a charger, and a Packout tool box with pre-cut foam insert to store it all in.
This is a great price, considering that Milwaukee has a kit with the non-Fuel brushless impact and 2x 2.0Ah batteries for $199. With this promo bundle, you step up to a more-featured and more powerful tool and higher capacity compact batteries, and there’s also the Packout tool box to consider.
Price: $199
10) Husky Hand Tools
To be perfectly honest, I’ve never really been a fan of huge mechanics tool sets, but that might be because I started out with a smaller budget and pieced together my kit with smaller sets. There was some overlap, and I also had to watch for sales so that I could affordably add more accessories in.
Here, this Husky 270pc mechanics tool set is priced at just $99.
It comes with 3 ratchets – in 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ drive sizes, 148 sockets, 14 wrenches, and 105 accessories.
This actually looks to be a very good assortment of tools to start out with.
For instance, you get enough wrench sizes here where their inclusion is actually worth it. Seriously, what’s the point of a mechanics tool set only giving you a total of 6 wrenches? Here, you get 7 each in metric and SAE sizes.
Looking at some of our prior years’ Black Friday tool deal coverage, a competing brand had a 263pc set in a plastic tool box for $150, and a 165pc set in blow molded case for $90. In another year, that competing brand had a 255pc set in a plastic tool box as a “doorbuster” for $150.
Husky hand tool quality is usually great for the money. A 270pc set for $99 seems like a fantastic deal for users looking to buy their first mechanics tool set, or maybe a portable kit to complement an existing set that’s stored in tool box drawers.
5 More Deals
Here are just a few more deals that I felt MUST be included here. I’m sorry, I really thought I could cram everything into a top 10 list, but Home Depot simply has too many compelling Black Friday tool deals.

Is it my imagination, or are the deals unusally good this year?
Matt
So far so great and even before Black Friday. Picked up m12 installation driver kit on sale for $179, free tool(chose 3/8 ratchet).
Picked up the new M12 radio/charger for $104 plus a 2.0 battery for free.
I’m just hoping that 10” dewalt table saw deal from last year happens again.
Stuart
I agree – that’s a VERY GOOD deal!
I thought it was a little too specialized a man top 10 deal but snuck it in at the end.
Here’s the direct link for anyone who missed it:
Milwaukee M12 Installation Driver KIT
The M12 radio kit is also a very good deal!

Unfortunately, I don’t have any information about table saw deals, but that’s why I’ll be up Thursday night and into Friday.
There haven’t been ANY portable table saw deals, and it’s possible this is because retailers have been saving inventory for Black Friday.
fred
The only thing approaching a table saw deal that I’ve seen so far is a Ridgid on a rolling stand for $349 – and I don’t know if that’s a good price

I’m afraid that last season’s insane 10″ table saw deal for DeWalt was to unload inventory so they could start selling the new model with the smaller blade. DWE7485 with 8¼” blade.
I did see that Acme has the Hitachi, excuse me: Metabo HPT table saw for $299.
Doug
The Dewalt Right Angle Attachment + Bit Set is gone everywhere in SoCal. Can we expect a restock or is it gone forever?
Stuart
If it’s really sold out, it’s probably gone for the season.
If it’s not, and only pre-Black Friday inventory was sold out, there could be a restock.
The website says it’s sold out everywhere near me too – “limited quantity in stock” – this seems to be an inventory protection mechanism to ensure that items advertised for Black Friday aren’t completely depleted by online shoppers. When this happens, online ordering is usually re-enabled on Thanksgiving Day.
John Blair
Laguna Niguel has a bunch. Ordered for curbside pickup.
Jerry
Thanks for compiling the list. Will be headed to Ho.e Depot before long and will be definitely checking out the Milwaukee driver.bits and the DeWalt organizers. Could use both.
Stuart
You’re welcome!
I’m crossing my fingers that the organizers will be available for online purchase again. But for the screwdriver bits, don’t forget that you can order online with zero minimum required for free shipping.
Clay
Yeah, I bought two. Wish I had bought more. Also wish the slim ones were also on sale at that price.
Stuart
The slim ones have never been on sale for this low. Maybe the lowest I’ve seen them sell for is $20 or $25.
I don’t know how Dewalt and Home Depot can sell hundreds of these per store at $10 each, but it could potentially be a loss-leader.
Marc
Right now I do not have the option for shipping for Milwaukee Shockwave Screwdriver Bit Set. It’s greyed out, but they do have stock in store.
Stuart
Ah. I’d say check back again tonight, Thanksgiving Day, and Friday.
Sounds like a lot of items are being temporarily inventory-protected, or something like that.
res51cue
Thanks for doing this, Stuart! I’m hoping to see if we may get any other deals on Dewalt miter saws ( 779/780) besides the $350 779 that’s now OOS.
Clay
Often they have the 779 with a free stand around this time of year.
res51cue
Clay, I’ve been on a lookout for that…seems like they’re only offering it with the 780 for now. Hopefully that’ll change in the next day or two!
Stuart
Nothing yet, but I’m watching closely!

I’m waiting for the Husky 290 piece tool set (H290MTS) to go on sale. It’s currently $149, hopefully it will drop to $99 sometime this holiday season though since it’s new it may not. It’s got a much better assortment of sockets, wrenches and not nearly as many filler bits as the 270 piece set. Plus the box it comes in has flaps on the side that secure the two drawers.
Josh
I picked up the 46” Black tool cabinet last year at $348. Loved it enough that I Picked up a matching one this year for $348 again. Got the 270 piece mechanics set for my teenage son starting out working on cars. It’s held up well for the past year and I don’t find my stuff randomly drug out. I’m not a big fan of the large sets either but for a kid starting out and moving out in the next year or so, it’s perfect. Tools are not snap on but are of decent quality. Wanted some of those $10 dewalt organizers and they were gone in the first 2 days.
JoeM
Before I forget, and can’t find it later… I found ONE video from overseas that shows a preview of TSTAK 2.0.
-Metal Pin on Hinges for Latches
-Heavier Connectors
-Flatter surfaces
-More Square shape, with fewer Angles
-Backward-Compatible
-Updated versions of every already released TSTAK to be launched
-Guess that DeWALT intends every new iteration of TSTAK to be 100% backward compatible with the first-generation, onward.
-Embedded spot for the DeWALT Bluetooth Tracker device on the inside of the boxes, so you can track them if they’re stolen.

Your pick #4– Husky tool cabinet for $398 is not a deal at all–that’s full price, and it’s been on sale at around $350 on several occasions.
I bought a damaged one (no damage to drawers or slides, just the edges of the outer cabinet itself) for $179, took it home and removed all of the drawers, used some body tools and got the dents mostly out without even cracking the paint. Left the wheels off and it slid right under a section of my workbench and setting under my bench, the dents don’t even show.
I can attest that i’s a nice unit. You could even take the position that at $398 its well worth it. But it’s certainly not a holiday deal.

The two M18 kit at HD is out of stock and ten minutes went by before I checked the “in stock” email and it was already gone.
Luckily that particular promotion is Milwaukee based and not Black Friday based – it’s good into January.
Stuart
M18 Fuel kit + 1 free bonus tool
M18 Fuel kit + 2 free bonus tools
Both offers look to be in stock to me.
Or did you mean the M18 kits discussed in the post? Those are in stock for me too.
Oh – this one:
Milwaukee M18 cordless drill and impact driver kit
That’s in stock too.
Tom D
https://toolguyd.com/home-depot/milwaukee-48-59-1840PG This one – it’s the basis for a bunch of “tool and two batteries and a charger for $199” deals. I want the router.
Stuart
Ah.
You could opt for in-store pickup or check back Thanksgiving Day. If it’s still not in stock for online ordering, check back on Black Friday.
I would even say check back tonight – I’ve seen a lot of Black Friday promos go live Wednesday evenings before.
Carl J
Fully agree with Dave. That price on that Husky box is nothing special at all. It was way overpriced to begin with and now is priced where it should of been all along. Sale price $350 tops.
Stuart
Black finish with silver trim is $348. All other colors including blue and grey are $398.
Koko The Talking Ape
The HD website seems to be glitching, on and off. Can’t add items to my shopping cart, can’t find items in stores, etc.
Stuart
It’s not just them, I’m seeing similar disturbances at a couple of other online retailers right now too.
Zappos, an Amazon company, was simply blank for me earlier, with a server error.
JoeM
Stuart… I think we broke the Internet! 😀 (Can’t stop Laughing)
Stuart
No, I just think it’s that everyone has started really getting into their Black Friday deal research right now.
John Blair
Yeah I’m hoping the Dewalt Angle Grinder / Flexvolt battery goes back in stock for Black Friday. Wasn’t ready to pull the trigger when it was in stock.
