This feels like a repeat of last month’s pre-holiday table saw deals post, but there are some changes and new additions worth posting about.
Since there aren’t many details out yet on stationary woodworking-focused table saw deals, I can only focus on portable or jobsite table saws. For any new DIYers or woodworkers reading this, I’d like to remind you that just because these are portable table saws, that doesn’t mean you can’t use them in your home workshop.
Also, portable table saws often come with basic blades. They’re usable, but one of the first things you’ll want to do is upgrade the blade. My current top pick is the same Diablo that I recommend as a good miter saw blade.

First up, here’s the Dewalt DWE7480 compact table saw.
The DW745 is back up to $299 at Amazon, while the DWE7480 dropped to $354 and is eligible for $25 off $100+ savings. At $299 vs. $329, the DWE7480 and is wider rip cutting capacity (24-1/2″) is a better buy.
Update: The DW745 is back to $280.
Even if I were on the budget, this one would be on my shortlist.

The DWE7480 is sold without a stand, but you could pick one up later. There’s also a bundle, for $429. But the stand is currently priced at $80 and is also eligible for $25 off $100+ savings.
If I wanted the saw and stand, I’d place two orders, one for the saw, and another for the stand plus $21 or more of other eligible tools to bring my order over $100 to take advantage of the $25 off $100+ discount. There are lots of things to choose from.
The DW745S features the very popular DW745, and pairs it with what looks to be the usual folding stand. This combo is a very good buy at $299. If you don’t need the extra rip capacity of the DWE7480, this is a very good buy.
This would be the BEST Dewalt Black Friday table saw deal I’ve ever seen.
BUT, there’s something weird about Home Depot’s product specs. Listings for the DW745, updated in recent years, often mention a rip capacity of 20″. Home Depot lists a max rip capacity of 16″ for this newly listed saw. So either it’s a mistake, or the saw’s rip cutting capacity is shorter than for other DW745 saws currently on the market.
Update: I just heard back – there’s an error in the product description; this DW745S has all the same features and specs as other DW745 saws on the market.
If that’s the case, then you’ll know what was given up for them to be able to bundle a stand with the saw for the same price. And if that’s what happened, this would still be a good deal.

There’s going to be a Ridgid table saw on sale, but NOT THIS MODEL. It looks very similar, but instead of a built-in handle and wheels, it’s going to be bundled with a folding stand.
Price: $199
It’s not up on Home Depot’s webpage yet, but I’ve included a link to the page for the model shown here. Given the many visual similarities between the saw in the sales flyer and this former holiday season special, I’d say that everything is the same, except for the bottom of the roll cage and the swap of the built-in mobility features for an included stand.
If you like the model shown here, it’s been on sale for $249, but doesn’t look to be available any more. It could be temporary.

Hitachi’s newest table saw is a solid option. It’ll be on sale at Acme Tools and Lowes for $299. It features a rack and pinion fence system and roller stand.
Reviews are good so far. It doesn’t seem to be quite at Dewalt quality, but it’s going to be on sale for a couple of hundred dollars less.

The Dewalt DWE7491RS portable table saw with roller stand, an EXCELLENT table saw, is on sale for $499. The deal is live at Amazon now, and coming soon to Acme Tool.
I’ve had a review sample of this saw in the workshop for some time, and it’s a lovely tool. I’m still hunting for something negative to say about it.

The Porter Cable PCX362010 table saw is as basic a table saw as you can get. I stopped by a nearby Lowes store, and there were dozens of these saws stacked up and nearly ready to go, suggesting they’re going to be a popular buy. I also checked Lowes.com reviews, which range from “not bad for the price,” to “worked for 3 weekends.”

I don’t think I have ever used Bosch’s 4100-09 table saw, which is bundled with a gravity-rise stand, but I know it to be one of the most highly regarded portable jobsite table saws on the market.
It is currently $499 at a lot of retailers, and I don’t recall seeing it ever sell for much lower.
But, as part of Acme Tools’ current promos, use coupon code NOEXCLUSIONS to take $54.89 off the price. Final price after coupon? $444.11. Shipping is free on $199+ orders.

The one I linked to is the version that’s bundled with a Diablo blade. The other version is also eligible for the same offer, but it’s being sold at the same price. For the same price, take the blade upgrade.

Your Deal Finds?
These are all the Black Friday 2017 table saw deals that I could find, and I did dig deep and hard to find them. But, I’m sure there will be another deal or two worth mentioning.
If you find another table saw deal, either for Black Friday or the holiday 2017 shopping season in general, please let us know!
And if you’re in the market for a new portable table saw, I’m curious to hear about which one you’re going for.
Possible Deal
The Dewalt DWE7480XA table saw bundle, featuring the DWE7480 table saw and matching stand, was a “deal of the day” back in April. The sale price, at the time, was $335.
I would not be surprised to see this return as a Black Friday or holiday season deal of the day.
The current price is $429.

We ended up with 16 of the Bosch 4100 jobsite saws some with the gravity rise stands – having phased out older Makita’s that were getting long in the tooth (sic transit gloria mundi) . We started buying these based on a couple of my lead carpenter’s liking them. The only quibble that I heard was about the fence – as some of the guys had used Dewalts and liked their rack and pinion fence better.
When I retired – I bought a Bosch/Gravity rise stand as my Garage Shop and Travelling Saw – to supplement the Unisaw in my main shop. I’s been a good performer for me – but gets used infrequently now. It did initially see a flurry of use on projects at my kid’s places and our summer home.
As an aside – I still think its too bad that we can’t buy a Reaxx saw here in the US – and that there are no BF deals on the Sawstop jobsite saw – just to give us some alternatives to buy.
Chris
Any idea what happened to the porter cable table saw model pcb222ts? I bought it last year at lowes and it’s not available anymore. Kind of dissapointed cause it’s a decent table saw.
Joe J
I have been hoping the DWE7491RS would drop a little lower. $499 seems to be the normal “on sale!” price.
Troy
I agree – I’ve been looking for a reason to buy the 7491 and I was hoping for a deal closer to $400 rather than $500.
Josh
Literally bought it 10 days ago for $410. Keep an eye on slickdeals – there was a weird Ebay deal, but through a real vendor and they shipped it for free. I was looking for a new table saw anyway and the price convinced me to go for a better saw than I otherwise would have bought.
Joe J
Damn. I would have pulled the trigger at that price.
PatrickD
That is an amazing price on the 4100, and it’s an awesome saw.
Ryan
Any similar thoughts on the power mitre saw opportunities this year?
Stuart
Still working on that!
Nathan
I have the dewalt 7490 and I love that combo. I don’t have to cart it around everywhere so wheels mean nothing to me.
However I have to say – if that new Skilsaw product with the stand has the gear driver fence extension I would take a hard look at that one. Probably also a good runner.
And I would look at which ones have the arbor for a dado stack.
fred
All these saws are a bit underpowered for a dado set. That being said, we (and I) ran a dado stack on the Bosch 4100. In the business – we had both Freud and Forrest 8 inch sets – and took it slow – often multiple passes – raising the blade to in increments to final height. At home – I bought a 6 inch set (SDB-600) from Infinity. It cuts deep enough for times I’m away from my Unisaw – and handles oak and other hardwood. Spinning less blade diameter (lower SFPM) – may help the saw’s motor.

Nathan
I’d buy most of that for a dollar but I would say my Dewalt ran a 8 inch diameter, 1/2 inch stack dado just fine. It was in Oak and yes I went slow with it – but I always do with a dado. For occasional use I think most will run a dado fine. Provided it has the spindle for it.
But no none of these are a production ready cabinet saw. Side question – does your cabinet saw run on 120 or 240? That might play into the equation a bit too.
fred
240V – as you say it plays into the equation. These jobsite saws with direct drive motors are meant to be less powerful so as be able to plug into a 15A 110V circuit. Maybe some have short arbors – not allowing dado sets – by design – the manufacturers not wanting to upgrade the motor or deal with warranty issues.
BTW – I understand that you can not run a dado set in Europe – considered unsafe.
jtr165
The 745 definitely has a short arbor for that exact reason, the manual even states that the weight of the entire unit and power output of the saw are not designed for dado cuts. It can fit a Freud ‘box jointer’ stack, but not much else. I believe the 7480 also has the same arbor size (and motor now? Or did it used to have it but now has an upgraded one?), but the noticeably larger 7490 series do have room for full stacks.

Thank you for compiling the information on the table saws. I am and avid DIY guy that is in the market for a new saw as my Kobalt went up in flames recently. I am looking to upgrade and I am torn between the Hitachi and the Dewalt DWE7480. I like the capacity of the Hitachi and the wheeled stand vs adding a stand for the Dewalt. I have seen both and the Hitachi does appear to be well built. The Dewalt speaks for itself. Any help would be appreciated on the decision
Stuart
If in your shoes, I’d buy the Hitachi with the possibility to return it locally, try it out for a quick project or two, and then if not happy, return it and buy the Dewalt or re-evaluate my options.
Kevin
Thanks guys! I can purchase the Hitachi locally at Lowe’s and yes I could return the saw if I am not satisfied.
Stuart
Your post reminded me – there was a special DWE7480 bundle back in April. https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-dwe7480-table-saw-with-stand-deal-042817/
While the bundled table saw stand is a folding stand and not wheeled one, that might even out the deals a little bit, if this deal does return.
Nathan
I’d give a hard look at a place like CPO outlets – and consider buying the dewalt as a reconditioned item. which is how I got my 7491 and it’s X stand. Which as a homeowner I love. I will say this also, I don’t know if you have a quality blade already – but factor the cost of a diablo 50 tooth combo blade (or something akin to it) with the cost of your purchase. A quality blade for your need make worlds of even on a mediocre saw. Or so I’ve found.
Personally I would also seek out that Skilsaw with the rack and pinion fence system also. Other than not liking that stand – the skilsaw table saw my neighbor has is a solid device other than the fense extension – which works it’s just a touch more fidgety than the Dewalt. Since they now make a rack and pinion version – potentially fixes that issue. I’d give that a hard look.
fred
Absolutely right about the blade supplied on both jobsite table saws and miter saws usually being good only for rough work. A good Freud or Forrest blade will improve the cut. The manufacturers naturally want to keep the costs down to be competitive. They might even argue that they don’t know what you will be cutting – so why supply a premium combination blade – if you want to use the saw only for ripping trim. So I’d be happier if they sold you the saw without a blade and cut the cost back. On my Bosch 4100 I would have been happier if Bosch had given me a coupon for $ off a Freud (a Bosch subsidiary) blade. Their supplied CBT1040A 40 tooth blade was immediately replaced with a Forrest WoodWorker II blade for my general work.

Hitachi for 299 looks like the best deal here to me.
On a separate note, Dewalt FlexVolt table saw kit with 1 battery is on clearance at some HD locations for $250. I got mine back in October along with a free battery promotion and got the price adjusted last week.
Eric Bachelder
If you are looking at the SkilSaw option there is an additional coupon for $20 off if you enter the code “SKILSAW2017” at checkout to bring the total price for the last option on this page down to $359. Just FYI
mattd
I wonder which, if any, of these saws can take a dado stack. I am pretty sure one of the dewalts and the bosch can. doubt any others.
fred
If you buy a saw that can’t take a dado stack – you can try the old trick.
Mount a ripping blade or other flat bottom cutting blade.
Set it for the depth of the dado you want.
Use it to cut both sides of the dado – and then to nibble away the waste in between.
Bryan
The Hitachi will take a Dado stack, according to specs. Looks like the Ridgid does too. I’d best most of these saws will accept at least a 6″ stack
Stuart
All but the smallest usually do.
Eric Bachelder
It looks like that is only available in the higher end models. This https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DWE7402DI-Throatplate-10-Inch-Portable/dp/B00NJPUYGS/
Can be used with DWE7490 and DWE7491 versions.

Hum …..

Acme is offering free blades with the Hitachi table saw. Two free 60 tooth Hitachi VPR blades. Good blades; enough to set the deal apart as the best on this page, imho… I bought it!
Bryan
Well it looks like the blade promo does not run concurrently with Black Friday, which is really too bad. Maybe later in the weekend it will come back…
