Finally got a pretty decent deal on an M18 16” Chainsaw/Blower/2 batteries/charger combo at HD for $519.00. They had this deal one day earlier this week…..saw it in the morning…..and sold out when I tried to pay for it at lunchtime. No hesitation this time!

Strangest thing though- I’ve been going back and forth between the blue store and orange store before I could decide on Dewalt or Milwaukee……..but this morning Lowes isn’t selling Dewalt cordless chainsaws or pole saws online. When on the Lowes site, you get no results for either. When doing a google search, you get results but when you click on them you get a “no longer sold online” message.

      Nice! Use it well!

I wish I could explain what you’re seeing, but I can’t. It’s possible Lowe’s considers those products seasonal items, or that they really want to encourage in-store sales. Or, maybe they’re trying to draw more focus to other brands, such as Kobalt or Ego.

Any deals on a great laser level for the discerning homeowner who buys quality tools? Been wanting to buy one for years but there are so many choices.

Two all-time low prices on Bosch lasers that I noticed are:

      Bosch green basic:
      $67.50
      https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JQWCL8J/

Bosch green 360-degree w/12V battery kit:
      $360
      https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078Y2Q3CR/

I currently use a Basic Bosch red laser level and it has worked well for my needs, but I’m tempted to upgrade to the 360 model.

Thanks for the info Ken. I may go with the basic green. It looks like it will suit my needs. The accuracy leave a bit to be desired, but I don’t see myself doing too many projects that it will matter.

If you plan on working at short distances, the Bosch GLL30 is on sale for $41 right now – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GJ40TOM/?tag=toolguyd-20 .

It has similar accuracy, but you might prefer red over green, as it’s less glaring when marking or drilling holes (at least in my opinion).

Thanks Stuart. Good info! 30′ should cover most of my needs… I’m going to get crabby when I need to do something farther out, but $40 seems good.

          • Stuart

            Nov 25, 2022

What I mean is – if a laser has +/- 5/16” accuracy, you’re going to want to work a bit closer. And if you’re working closer, you might prefer red over green.

If using 3-plane or other lasers that cover larger areas, often from greater working distances, that’s where green lasers start to standout, at least in my opinion.

The reviews are making me lean towards this one, of course, at 3 times the price. Though it does outwardly appear to be at a heafty discount.

Deal of the day: BOSCH 65 Ft. Self-Leveling Cross-Line Combination Laser with Plumb Points GCL 2-160 , Black https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01N44GG98/

I’ve had 4-5 lasers in the last 10 years or so. The single handiest, most multipurpose one I’ve used (and continue to use as a working remodeler) is the Dewalt O88k model. Simple, bullet proof design, no frills, no useless features, simple batteries, great pivot magnetic mount as well as attachable ceiling grid mount. Available in Red and Green, though I bought the green version to see if the laser was any more “clear” or sharp and it was absolutely no difference at all from the red, so I just kept my red version.

From kitchen cabinets, basement soffits, floor leveling, tile lines or chair rail, this little Dewalt laser has worked flawlessly.

Acme Tools has Milwaukee’s M12 FUEL 3/8” High Speed Ratchet Kit (with CP-size battery) for $99. Their bare tool listings for same model are $200? Seeing the same thing with other ‘free’ battery pairings at Acme and HD; nothing for this ratchet below $200. Am I overlooking something? Is this a last-gen model or some other wonkiness? Looks like a great price even by Black Friday standards!

Went to HD. Lots of people, but no long lines. Got the Ridgid rolling cart/3 box set up for $140. Tried to put it behind the passenger seat in my extended cab. Wouldn’t fit with the cart, so I detached the cart part and the three stack fit perfect. Couldn’t have stored it inside if the cart wasn’t removable. What a great new design.
Also got the m18 1/2″ impact wrench and m12 ratchet combo. Haven’t opened it yet, but it was too good a deal.

Stuart, thanks for highlighting the KC Tools deals. I’d not shopped there before. The Wera multi-bit screwdriver and the Knipex pliers set were ~50% of their normal price, and shipping is free after $75, I think.

Thank you – happy Holidays to you too!!

KC Tool always manages to convince me to crack open my wallet, either for the doorbuster deals of the day, promo code, or both. I picked up the hammers and NWS pliers myself. I was tempted to get another Wera screwdriver and Knipex pliers, but figured I’d think about it more. Those are all duplicate tools for me, and I can’t say I recall wishing I had more, so I kept my wallet closed. I already have Halder hammers, but can use more – they’ve become my go-to for rubber mallets, and I also like their dead blow.
