If you’ve been on the fence as to whether to buy into Bosch’s 12V cordless power tool line, their new mega combo kit (CLPK33-120LP) is the kit you want to buy. It comes with a PS31 3/8″ drill driver, PS41 1/4″ hex impact driver, (2) 2.0Ah lithium ion batteries, a quick charger, (2) L-Boxxes (-1 and -1A), and the new compact jobsite radio.
All this for $203 and change at Amazon. The kit is currently listed as having a 3-4 week shipping ETA, but I would recommend getting in on that sale price while you can.

Compared to the lowest price I could find for the same components purchased separately, you save $165. Swap in 1.5Ah batteries for the 2.0Ah ones, and you’re still saving $85. That counts as a hot deal in my book.

I actually came across this deal yesterday, but it slipped from my mind until a reader wrote in about it this morning. Thanks Garrick, for the heads-up!
There is what appears to be a great buy on 12 volt Bosch tools at Amazon. It includes 2 L-Boxx-1’s, a compact radio, a drill and an impact driver for $203. Separately the price would be over $450. Even compared to the Drill with 2 L-Boxxes, presently at $119, the price is very good.
Garrick’s estimate puts the combo value at over $450, but by combining various 12V kits and bare tools together, I arrive at a price as low as $288, but even then you only get 1.5Ah batteries and not the newer higher capacity 2.0Ah packs. Another combination results in a combined price of $368.
To put together a kit with the same exact components would cost about $387 (L-Boxx 1A + 12V starter kit with L-Boxx, charger, and (2) batteries; PS31 and PS41 bare tools; and the jobsite radio).

It’s a bit messy figuring out the true valuation of this kit, since Bosch offers a couple of other great value L-Boxx and 12V combos. But you can think of it this way – the (2) L-boxxes and radio are valued at about $199 by themselves, and the non-L-Boxx PS31 and PS41 combo kit is valued at $169. This kit gives you all that and better batteries for $165 less.
No matter how you look at it, $203 is a great price for what you get.
During proofreading, it seemed to me like I was promoting and pushing this combo a bit hard. ToolGuyd does receive a small commission for any order placed via the above Amazon link, or this one, but that’s not the motivation behind this post. To be frank, I really think it’s a great combo at an incredible price. Beyond that, I am a big fan of L-Boxxes, as well as Bosch’s 12V drills and drivers. If you want to purchase the combo, or check out the item without Amazon crediting ToolGuyd for any sales, just search for it by its model number (CLPK33-120LP) or ASIN (B00EPE7QAE).

Stuart, I love your honesty and integrity. It’s one of the things that keeps me coming back day after day to ToolGuyd. If I didn’t already have 3 of these Bosch drivers, I’d gladly click that Amazon link to support your site. And since I have these Bosch drivers, I can understand your enthusiasm. In fact, I originally bought my first one based on your review, but…the one L-Boxx that I bought was quickly returned, because to me it felt cheap, flimsy and not very space efficient. As my Dad would say (in latin) “when it comes to matters of taste, there can be no disputing!”
Keep sharing your opinion – we’re listening

Thanks for the support! I have found that transparency is a highly effective motivator for me to keep things in check. I don’t engage in any practices I wouldn’t openly discuss on ToolGuyd. In this case, given my exceptionally positive attitude towards the deal, I just wanted to provide an easy go-around in case anyone found my motives to be questionable.

Good deal but I couldn’t pass up the current deal at sears. Craftsman 12V Impact and drill/driver with 1 battery and charger for $39.99.
Garrick
Just for the fun of it, I thought I’d break down the cost of the individual components, as they come in this kit. Based on the Amazon listed prices (not “list” price), and some estimated manufacturing costs, I get:
L-Boxx -1 $20 each
2.0 Amp battery $16 each
Charger $10
Drill $38
Impact Driver $38
Radio $45
Total $203
Assuming no one is losing money at these prices, it shows there how much progress has been made in tool engineering and manufacturing cost reductions over the years.
Now, can I use a 9th drill…?
Stuart
It is possible that margins are so slim, or that the tools are even being sold at a loss, in order to attract additional users to Bosch’s 12V compact power tool line and L-Boxx tool storage system.

once again you have shown why we trust your reviews

This “Hot Deal” just got even hotter. Down to $191.59.
Stuart
Thanks for the update! I just checked, and the price is now at $220. I have a feeling that we’ll see $200 or sub-$200 pricing again once the holiday season rolls in.

I’ve been wanting to upgrade to a brushless drill, but I found this kit for $189, with an additional $40 mail-in rebate. I suppose I should stop thinking about a brushless drill and get this instead.
