As mentioned in our Best Cordless Drills post, the Bosch DDS181 is my favorite cordless drill/driver. It’s not brushless, it doesn’t sport the latest and greatest tech, and isn’t “best in class” in any category, but it’s a very capable and reliable compact cordless drill. And now, it’s on sale for just $109, and that includes (1) compact Li-ion battery packs, a charger, and an L-Boxx tool box.
The Bosch DDS181-102L kit is one of the better cordless drill deals I’ve seen in a while. It’s unclear as to whether $109 is the new price to help clear inventory out to make way for newer models, or if it’s a temporary sale price. Either way, if you’ve been looking for a new cordless drill at the ~$100 price point, this is a great value for just a few bucks more.
This is the same drill I use on a regular basis, at least when I’m not testing something new. It has a 1/2″ ratcheting chuck, 0-500 and 0-1,700 RPM gearbox, and a powerful motor that can deliver up to 600 in-lbs of torque.
The only thing that could make this kit any better is if it included two batteries for the price, but that’s a bit much to ask for.
