This Bosch Cordless Screwdriver Kit is on Sale for $69

Bosch PS21-2A Cordless Screwdriver Kit

Over at Amazon, they have the Bosch 12V Max PS21-2A cordless screwdriver kit on sale for $69. This deal is $10 lower than the sale price from two years ago at around the same time.

I think this is a good deal. The Bosch cordless screwdriver delivers 265 in-lbs max torque, has a 2-speed gearbox (0-350/0-1300 RPM), and weighs 1.4 lbs.

Whenever we talk about cordless screwdrivers, some commentors will always say: but I don’t need this, I already have a cordless drill and a cordless impact driver.

That might be true, but cordless screwdrivers are a sort of cross between a drill and an impact driver. You get the compactness of an impact driver, with the adjustable torque clutch of a drill.

I presume you can also still drill with this Bosch PS21 model, although only with 1/4″ hex-shank drill bits. I should mention that while I’ve used cordless drills and impact drivers with hex-shank impact-rated drill bits in recent years, I still have yet to use any cordless screwdriver for drilling tasks.

This tool, and others like it, are great for light duty assembly and fastening tasks. Bosch’s adjustable torque clutch dial usually offers great precision at the low end, and repeatability throughout.

If you’re up for waiting, you might be able to find a deal on Bosch’s or another brand’s brushless model. But, if you’re not sure you need a cordless screwdriver in the first place, this is the deal to buy.

At $69 for the tool, carrying case, charger, and (2) Li-ion batteries, it’s a good deal, and at lower risk than if you were to buy a brushless kit even on sale.

I’d recommending buying a more modern and perhaps higher performance brushless model if this is a tool you plan to use often. But for less frequent use, or if you’re not up to a greater drain on your wallet, this a good buy.

Sale Price: $69

An older model, but still a capable driver. I love these super compact screwdrivers. Not every fastener needs an impact driver, though I do love my M12 Surge too.

I have had this in my toolbag for about 5 years. I’ve been able to drive up to 1 1/2″ paddle bits with it, though not as quickly as a higher power tool. The stubby head and small footprint make it great for daily HVAC service tasks; I can manipulate it into tight situations where the Milwaukee M12 one doesn’t fit. And the form factor just fits my hand wonderfully.

I’m a big believer in needed enough tool to do my work and not carrying around more than I need. This fits that hole quite nicely.

However, I don’t recommend it all that much because of the lack of compatible tools Stateside. Despite that, for $70, this is a good buy if you’re in the market.

My Father-in-Law got me one of these for Christmas last year. It was a gateway drug into 12V tools for me. This tool is WAY more handy than what I expected and is my go to when I need to drive a screw into something and not overdrive it.

Buy it! The Bosch PS21 is fantastic. Perfect for small to medium driving. Will cover 90%of homeowner tasks a nd a lot of professional tasks too. I like the wide clutch adjustment range. One of my most used power tools.

If you already have the Bosch 12V batteries, you can usually find new the Bosch PS21 as a open box bare tool (no battery) for $45 which is a great price. I bought one as a spare since it was so cheap. $69 for tool, charger, and batteryis a great deal too if you need those.

      Thanks for the alert!

Try again, I fixed the link to force Amazon as the direct seller: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BEE12U/?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=toolguyd-20

It’s still available for purchase at $69, but with an “in stock October 14, 2020) message, and so the default Amazon link switched to a $75.99 seller that can ship earlier.

The new link should show the $69 unless Amazon changes the price or sells out the next few shipments worth of inventory.

        $69 price worked for me.
It’s like buying two batteries and getting the driver for free!

            Well…

$69 is a great deal for this kit, but looking at the price of separate components can skew the value.

            $110 is the 3rd party seller price. You can buy a single 2.0Ah battery for $39 via Tool Nut. 2 x $39 = $78.

So yes, the 3rd party price is misleading, but this cordless screwdriver kit gives you a greater value than if you were to buy just two of the bundled batteries separately at their typical retail price.

Bosch used to have a 12V starter kit with (2) batteries, charger, and tool box for $70. Now, they have a charger and single 2.0Ah battery for $49.
