The new Bosch heated jackets are also being discounted at the moment; Bosch’s $20 off $100+ seasonal promo looks to work on all sizes.
The new Bosch GHJ12V-20 heated jackets are said to feature an enhanced modern design
Bosch also says that their new 12V heated jackets feature:
- Lighter and more flexible materials
- Larger pockets
- Strategically-placed heating elements
This is in comparison to Bosch’s previous generation heated jacket, which launched in 2013.
Bosch says:

There is no need to layer with this warm jacket, due to three powered heating zones and a rugged outer shell that’s wind and water resistant.
The heating zones are in the chest (2) and lower back (1).

Discussion
The new Bosch GHJ12V-20 heated jacket is said to be made from lighter and more flexible materials compared to their older model, but there are no details regarding the weight or insulation level of the new jackets.
There are also no details regarding runtime for the included 2Ah battery.
When they say larger pockets, they’re not kidding – there’s a full document pocket on the inside panel.
A look at the user manual shows pocket location, as well as the approximate size and placement of heating elements.

Milwaukee’s M12 Axis heated jacket has primary heating zones in the chest and mid-back, and additional independently-controlled shoulder heating zones for added warmth. They’re also said to serve well as a midlayer or outer layer.

There is also a Bosch heated hoodie launching at the same time as the heated jackets:

The old coat was great. I only pull it out if it’s below 0 and even than I don’t use the heat unless there is no sun.

I have the original coat and I would rate it 3/5 stars. I don’t live in a northern climate so having a lighter coat that has the heat option makes sense since it’s cold in the am and usually heats up mid-day. I basically use it to take the chill off. However the main zipper being on the opposite side and letting go a few times has been an irritant. Also, I fell like the original coat’s ergomincs/cut left a lot to be desired when sitting in my truck-it snags across the back and bunches at the neck. Plus hand-washing isn’t as conveniemt as toss in the machine.
