Bosch MRC23EVSK Modular Router Plunge and Fixed Base Combo Kit

Coptool (of Ohio Power Tool) just broke the news that Bosch will soon be releasing a new woodworking router spindle (MRC23EVSK), complete with redesigned plunge and fixed bases. Bosch has earned themselves a solid reputation amongst woodworkers with their current 1617 series routers. From the looks of it, Bosch outdid themselves and their new feature-rich routers will quickly reinforce that reputation!

What kind of new features are we talking about? A trigger power switch,  precision centering, Constant-Response circuitry that maintains spindle speed under load, and more!

Bosch’s release will include three new router kits, and they should be hitting stores sometimes next month:

It’s too bad they got rid of those wooden handles. Those things were beautiful.

That’s just what I was thinking as well. I have a Craftsman relabel of the Bosch 1617, and the dark polished handles are quite classy and feel great to hold onto. I suppose that the D handles on the new bases will bases will be a lot easier or even more comfortable to hold on to.

Interesting, I’ve been in the market for a router, and for the deciding factor between the Bosch 1617 and the Milwaukee 5615 was that the Milwaukee had table top adjustments. Too bad this new version appears to be 100$ more for the combo pack than the 1617 combo pack, that puts it out of my price range.

I recently purchased a #BoschMRF23EVS from a local #BOSCH dealer. It was delivered to me 7 days later and straight out of the box it was corroded. The unit made a weird noise for a few secs and then nothing. Completely non functional. That sucks I thought, but I’m covered by the warranty. I contact the dealer and he informs me THAT is a #BOSCH problem, not HIS problem. I contact the regional headquarters for #BOSCH in my area, they inform me they did not import that model so they won’t cover it. So no warranty coverage? I then go online to #BoschGlobal and inform them of the situation in a lengthy email. They don’t even bother to reply they just send me back to the regional headquarters who writes me an email and says “we already told you no”, seriously? That is #BOSCH #customerservice. I then take to twitter, tell my story, post pics and tag #BOSCHGLOBAL . That seems to get their attention and they reply on twitter saying that unfortunate contact us via direct message and we will sort this out. I do so immediately… that was 8 weeks ago and they have yet to reply. So in a public form #BOSCH commented to make it look like they were acting to assist their customers but in reality nothing.. That was all for show.. Did anyone ar BOSCH give me information on who to contact to get it functional, did anyone at #BOSCH ask to see a receipt or ask me which dealer was selling that model in the wrong territory, did anyone at #BOSCH in any way try to help we or sort this out? Nope every single person in the chain just ignored my calls or passed the buck.. Absolutely shocked at the horrid customer service #BOSCH provides to its valued customers. Save yourself the headache frustration and buy a tool that works from a company that cares about the end users. This is not how customer service works in the internet age #BOSCH fix your house this is shameful. A quick visit to Amazon reveals plenty of stories like mine from frustrated consumers who bought the same unit with similar problems and unfortunately were treated much the same way by #BOSCH
