Proper tire inflation provides for optimal performance and fuel economy, but also makes your vehicle safer to drive. Many drivers are conscious of this, but not everyone has the space, budget, or need for a large air compressor. Campbell Hausfeld is introducing several smaller air inflation kits designed for proper inflation of tires and common household items.
CH’s new product family consists of four small compressor kits, which can also be used with other tools such as pneumatic nailers for installing trim and crown molding. Each compressor provides up to 125 psi, which is suitable for most if not all home inflation projects. All four kits include a universal tire inflation chuck that fits both Presta and Schrader valves, a 25 foot recoil hose, and a raft inflation nozzle.
Kit FP260095 features a one-gallon compressor with an ultimate inflation kit, including a digital ball gauge and digital tire gauge. A 12 and 120 volt raft inflator and inflation needles are included. MSRP is $110.
Kit FP2600 includes a one-gallon pancake style compressor, and kit FP2601 includes a one-gallon hot dog style compressor. Both kits come with inflation accessories, including a sports ball inflation needle, tire gauge, tread depth indicator, coupler, and plug. The two kits have MSRPs of $70 and $75, respectively.
Lastly, there’s kit FP2602, which features a two-tank two-gallon compressor with inflation kit. This two-gallon model is ideal for the inflation of larger tires, and for more intensive household projects. The inflation kit includes the same accessories as one-gallon compressor kits FP2600 and FP2601. MSRP is $90.
If even a one-gallon compressor is too much, remember that Campbell Hausfeld also offer compact 12 and 120 volt inflators.
Drivers without access to a compressor at home have few options when it comes to adjusting their tire pressure. Campbell Hausfeld passed on the findings of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration study that showed 14% of gas stations are not equipped with functioning air pumps, and that fewer than 50% of all gas stations offer air pumps equipped with tire pressure gauges. Also found in that study was that 27% or passenger cars and 32% of pickup trucks, SUVs, and mini-vans had at least one significantly under inflated tire.
