Dewalt has finally launched their new lineup of cordless 12V Max lithium ion power tools. When I first previewed these new compact tools, it was love at first touch. We currently have the full range of tools in-hand for review, and will start off the series by discussing the tools’ common handle and battery design.
Porter Cable’s new Quik Jig pocket hole system has recently hit stores. If you recall, the Quik Jig is a good looking pocket hole drilling jig that Porter Cable recently came out with. The Quik Jig has been praised in early reviews for its repeatability and ease of use. Given its $230 price tag, I hesitate […]
Dewalt just announced their new Impact Clutch (DWHJHLD) accessory holder that they say will help alleviate some of the frustrations encountered in heavy-duty impact driver applications. Common high-torque issues include bit tip breakage, fastener stripping and fastener breakage.
We recently republished a reader’s review of the new Husky ratcheting rotary socket wrench that he left in comment to our post about the tool. It has since come to light that this comment/review may have been FAKE. Until we get to the bottom of this, please consider the republished user review to be invalid. In the […]
This weekend I visited a few major tool and home improvement stores for a sneak peek of their winter holiday tool gift displays. As expected, the two Home Depots closest to me had most of their displays up already. Similar to last year’s selection, there were a few power tools in the mix, but there was a […]
During a recent visit to my local Home Depot, I snapped a few more close-up pics of the new Husky universal ratcheting rotary wrench. The above photo shows the 5/16″ socket of the new 48-in-1 dog bone wrench, and below are photos of the 9/16″ socket.
UPDATE: It has come to light that “Jason” may be a shill for Home Depot, Husky or one of their agents. As such, please DISREGARD this post until our investigation is complete. We currently believe that the review left by “Jason” is FAKE. The other day we introduced (and ragged on) Husky’s new 48-in-1 ratcheting rotary […]

In case you missed it, we’re huge fans of Bosch jig saws. So of course we’re very eager to hear that Bosch is rolling out a new line of saws, starting with a new flagship model. It’s hard to get excited over specs and fancy marketing phrases, but Bosch has already proved that they know […]
We talked a bit about Milwaukee’s new M12 cordless palm nailer last month, but its performance expectations have just been made available. Milwaukee claims that the palm nailer can drive a 16D 3-1/2” nail in under 2 seconds, and up to 100 nails per battery charge. That sounds pretty darn impressive – let’s hope that it can […]
Porter Cable’s new ClampSaw is part of their introductory 12V Max Li-Ion cordless tool lineup. The ClampSaw, a compact reciprocating saw, looks pretty handy with its pivoting handle, but how well does it perform? We received a review sample and tested the saw on a number of different materials to find out. (Check price via Amazon)
Dewalt’s new 12V Max cordless tool lineup is finally available. We mentioned these tools a few times thus far, and will be reviewing quite a few of them in upcoming weeks as well. From what we’ve seen already, they’re downright amazing.
Last fall we reviewed Milwaukee’s M12 cordless right angle drill, and found it to be a darn decent tool. It performed well, provided enough torque for RA applications, and had great ergonomics. It looks like a new M18 18-volt version is due to be released soon, so we compared the specs for the two tools.
Bosch’s Speed-X rotary hammer bits were announced a few months ago and were described as the fastest concrete bits available and touted as being 18 % more durable than any other concrete bit. We’re told that they’re now available, so check with your local Bosch distributor to give them a try.
The above-pictured Milwaukee drill/driver looks similar to their first generation 3/8″ drill/driver, but there is a huge difference between the two tools. This one is a hammer drill. That’s right, Milwaukee managed to cram the necessary hammer/vibratory mechanisms into their compact M12 cordless form factor!
