Dewalt’s new 12V Max cordless tool lineup is finally available. We mentioned these tools a few times thus far, and will be reviewing quite a few of them in upcoming weeks as well. From what we’ve seen already, they’re downright amazing.
Last fall we reviewed Milwaukee’s M12 cordless right angle drill, and found it to be a darn decent tool. It performed well, provided enough torque for RA applications, and had great ergonomics. It looks like a new M18 18-volt version is due to be released soon, so we compared the specs for the two tools.
Bosch’s Speed-X rotary hammer bits were announced a few months ago and were described as the fastest concrete bits available and touted as being 18 % more durable than any other concrete bit. We’re told that they’re now available, so check with your local Bosch distributor to give them a try.
The above-pictured Milwaukee drill/driver looks similar to their first generation 3/8″ drill/driver, but there is a huge difference between the two tools. This one is a hammer drill. That’s right, Milwaukee managed to cram the necessary hammer/vibratory mechanisms into their compact M12 cordless form factor!
Porter Cable is introducing their new compact ClampSaw as part of their new 12V Max cordless tool lineup. The ClampSaw (PCL120CRC-2) is a compact saw designed for applications that don’t quite require the power or size of ordinary reciprocating saws.
Craftsman is launching a new line of universal sockets to match their newish universal wrenches. These sockets are designed to match a variety of fastener types and feature an industrial finish with finger knurls. At this time there are separate SAE and metric sets, a combined set including a matching ratchet, and a large 56pc set. […]
Duo-Fast gave us a heads-up that they just put up a video demonstrating their new cordless roofing nailer. While not as excitingly revolutionary as Senco’s new Fusion nailers these nailers look like they will soon be highly popular at many jobsites.
Bosch has just released a new video demo of their new 12″ dual-bevel axial glide miter saw. The video actually does a great job of highlighting the hard-to-visualize features Bosch developed for their innovative saw. Although the saw is designed for jobsite use, it looks to offer many DIY-friendly features as well. Bosch GCM12SD Axial Glide […]
Craftsman has introduced new premium grade ratchets that feature an 84-tooth design and 4.5° arc swing. These ratchets also feature a fully-sealed head and long ergonomic handle.
We recently reported that Craftsman has added a new right angle impact driver to their 12V cordless Nextec lineup. The new RAID is designed for close-quarters work but should provide enough power for general purpose fastening tasks as well. Eager to see what it can do, we put Craftsman’s Nextec RAID to the test. In this hands-on […]
Milwaukee has released their new M12 cordless palm nailer. This is the first tool of its kind, and one of Milwaukee’s first to include a new backwards-compatible RedLithium battery. The nailer is designed to take the place of traditional palm nailers, which require air compressors and hoses for power. I’m hoping that Milwaukee’s new cordless hammer […]
Porter Cable’s first cordless jobsite radio is scheduled to join their 18V cordless tool lineup sometime next month. The radio is said to be very durable and user-friendly, and can be powered through a 120V power outlet, or cordlessly using a Porter Cable 18 volt NiCad or Li-ion battery.
Wiha recently released new screwdrivers based off their SoftFinish cushion grip drivers. These new Measure-Up screwdrivers feature inch and metric measuring scales on the shafts of the drivers. Initially I was skeptical that these new drivers were just another “gimmicky’ tool but I was soon proven wrong, as you will see in the following hands-on review.
Black & Decker’s ratcheting ReadyWrench takes their highly successful ReadyWrench dog bone all-in one style wrench to the next level. Like the original, the ratcheting ReadyWrench can also fit 16 fastener sizes in 8 sockets, but appears to be more compact and has a handy (15°?) offset at both ends.
Woodpeckers just introduced a new 6″ carpenters square that has been long overdue. The square is machined from cast and ground aluminum tooling plate, features machined 90° and 45° angles and has a solid beefy base that also functions as a handle. Woodpeckers previously only offered a 12″ carpenter triangle, which is a bit large […]
