Dewalt heavy duty work stand + universal miter saw brackets = a very decent portable clamping solution.
What did Rockwell do now that their JawHorse is considered by many to be the best portable clamping workstand on the market today? They expanded the capacity, added a few improvements, and created the JawHorse SheetMaster.
These LOC-Blocks (can’t we just call them Bench Brownies?) are interlocking gripping blocks that are used to grip and raise workpieces above your workbench.
Over at Toolsnob yesterday, Doug posted a review of the Rockwell JawStand. In the review, he pointed out that the clamping mechanism is slow to adjust, and that closing it from 1-1/2″ to 3/4″ requires nearly 20 turns of the adjustment knob. This slowness is actually something that we discovered as well, but neglected to […]
Rockwell’s new JawStand is designed to serve as a work support, outfeed/extension table, and a third hand type support. It looks like a handy tool, but how well does it really work? Before we get to the meat of the review, I’ll just come right out and say it – the JawStand is as handy as it looks and […]
As a follow-up to their immensely popular Bench Cookie Work Grippers, Rockler introduced a new Plus edition, and a more stylish home edition. If you have signed up for Rockler’s free catalog, you may have already seen these new Bench Cookies on the front page of this month’s catalog.
Red Toolbox’s T010-F workbench is a fold-away tool center meant for use by children, and yet it incorporates many well though out features that I can see being very handy for adult use. It has a 24″ x 17.5″ work surface, built-in tool storage, an integrated vise, and what appears to be a somewhat sturdy steel […]
A few people have asked about where to find the new Rockwell JawStand. It looks like it was just added to Woodcraft’s catalog, which is great because their $15 off $75 and free shipping promo is still ongoing. The JawStand is priced at $70, so you’ll need $5 of “fillers” to take advantage of the […]
Rockwell just announced their new JawStand, a handy clamp that serves as a second set of hands. The compact and easy to use JawStand has a capacity of 220 lbs, can clamp workpieces up to 1-3/4″ thick, and has an adjustable height of 25 to 41 inches. Its heavy-duty tripod support can pivot 0 to 90° and swivel 360°. […]
Vika’s TwoFold Workbench and Scaffold is a reconfigurable platform can safely support 500 lbs. Unfold the unit and extend its legs and you have a strong and stable scaffold. Flip it over and extend the legs further, and you now have a nice 30″ x 24″ work surface. When you’re done, the entire unit folds into […]
Triton’s SuperJaws Workbench is selling for an all-time-low of $130 over at Amazon. This promo the SuperJaws at $29 less than the rebranded Ridgid SuperClamp, and $49 lower than the Rockwell Jawhorse. It looks like the sale price is valid until July 22nd. However, keep in mind that Amazon’s sales sometimes end early due to quick […]
It looks like every one is competing to see who can sell the the most Rockwell Jawhorses. Several retailers have dropped the price of the Jawhorse to $160, including free shipping! The Jawhorse weighs about 40+ lbs, so the free shipping is a pretty sweet bonus. If you order from Woodcraft, use coupon code 62610 […]
Right now the Rockwell Jawhorse is on sale at Amazon for $166.50, including free shipping. Normally price-fixed at $179, the Jawhorse has earned itself solid reviews and seems to be a favorite gift item. As with many of Amazon’s other deals/sales, we don’t know if or when the Jawhorse’s price will jump back to full price or […]
This Wilton 6-1/2″ Light Duty Woodworking Vise is on sale over at Woodcraft for a mere $10. Standard shipping (at least to my east coast address) is quite reasonable at $7.
PanaVise’s “Junior” vise is ideal for holding small or delicate objects, and is available with either a miniature or vacuum-clamp base. The Junior vise complements PanaVise’s standard size vise to provide a wide range of workholding capabilities.
Ridgid just came out with the SuperClamp, robust mobile clamping workstation. The Superclamp has a solid array of user-friendly features, and bears an extremely close resemblance to Triton’s venerable Superjaws workbench. With a jaw capacity of 37-1/2″, and a foot operated clamp capable of exerting 2,000 pounds of force, the SuperClamp will be definitely be a strong competitor to Rockwell’s Jawhorse.
Toolsnob’s Doug Mahoney wrote a great article over at Popular Mechanics pitting the relatively new Rockwell Jawhorse against the ubiquitous Black & Decker Workmate. Check out his article to see how the showdown played out.
PanaVise vises are great for electronics, hobby work, or any delicate task that requires more finesse or precision than a large bulky iron vise allows. The 301 standard PanaVise is reasonably sized and features a split ball design that allows 180° tilt, 360° turn, and 360° rotate positioning adjustments.
