Over at CPO, they’ve launched a new Veteran’s Day promo that starts today and ends on Thursday 11/11/2021.
With this promo, save 11% on $100+ orders of select items with coupon code VETSDAY11. There are nearly 3000 SKUs included in the sale.
While not everything is included, there’s plenty to choose from. Not everything is the best price, so be sure to double-check. For instance, Makita’s corded trim router is still less expensive on Amazon.

I like to consider these percent-off deals to be a sort of “make your own Black Friday tool deal.” A lot of times I’m asked whether certain tools will be discounted for the holiday season, and it can be really hard to tell. Because of that, deals like this might be the only way to score a lower price on some of the tools you’re looking to buy.
There are no guarantees. I don’t like advising people on whether to buy or wait, but if you have any questions, let me know and I’ll give you my honest opinion about what I would do when faced with similar buying choices.
Here’s the fine print:
11% discount applied in cart with coupon code VETSDAY11. Valid on select items, qualifying items are identified on the product page. Offer not valid on reconditioned, open box and certified items. Discount applies to merchandise only. Excludes tax and shipping. Max discount of $200 per customer. Limit one per customer. Cannot be combined with any other order level discount. Offer valid until 11:59pm ET on November 11, 2021 or while supplies last. No adjustments to previous purchases. Subject to change without notice.

interesting. Right now on my punch list is that dewalt compact impact wrench. 1/2 drive 20V model. Why – because I need to kick off the struts and brakes on the wifey’s exploder.
and I want to put new shocks on the F150. And it seems I have to replace the struts on the MIL’s Escape. and . . . . . . .

Doesn’t look like CPO has them, at least not at the moment. The best deal on the Atomic DCF921 right now is the “buy an Atomic tool/kit at $199 get a 5Ah battery ‘free'”. Available at HD in store or online as bundle.

The non Atomic single speed DCF911 doesn’t seem to have any sales for it at this time.

ohio tool and some other stores have the 921 which is what I want so it seems 199 for bare tool is the going rate. seems good enough.

I wonder what tool prices will do in the next year? Take a step back to pre- virus levels. Or continue to climb the inflation mountain.

There seem to be many competing factors.
In favor of more normalized pricing interspersed with sales and deals:
– The pandemic seems to be abating
– The remodeling frenzy brought on by being more housebound seems to
be slowing down – so demand for tools and materials may drop
– There is a lot of focus on doing something about supply chain issues
In a more pessimistic view:
– Inflationary pressures still exist – and may spiral
– Pent up demand for product can drive prices higher
– We have gotten used to price increases so manufacturers and retailers
may have less incentive to reverse the trend – particularly as workers
seek higher wages
– The Federal Reserve’s ability to stem inflation is being called into
question in a period when new job creation and reducing the
unemployment rate may take precedence over inflation
– Global instability – with emphasis on China’s aspirations for
absorbing Taiwan and control of the South China Sea may have a
negative impact
There are probably others too. My take has always been that if you need a tool now to complete a project or do your job – waiting on a sale is not so smart. But if you really don’t need the tool you are contemplating – think it might just be something nice to have – then waiting to see what the market does makes sense. In the interim if you have invested your capital wisely – you should be able to blunt any inflationary pressures. Experience tells me that there are often “feeding frenzies” that occur just before the market (for nearly any commodity) hits its peak. Not all are as bad as the infamous Tulip Bubble – but the idea that “I better buy before the price goes up even more” has been the financial ruin of many. Timing the tool price market – may be just as tricky as timing the stock market or real estate market.

The US recently eased tariffs on imported steel(EU). We will see how that effects record steel prices, and effects on end users pricing.

I thought stuart would post this one.
Today Toolup has a good milwaukee brand promo. $60 off $249+ with code MIL60
Somewhat limited to “non sale prices” and no promo stacking but a decent deal.
They also have a decent deal on m12 fuel and non fuel tools, buy two get a free 6.0a battery.

I had noted the same deal under a different post.
For ski/snowboarding fans I also got a promo code (BFNOW) for 20% off at Racewax:

I see the Dewalt 2.0 deep trays are back in stock. I’ve been watching the Husky clear top storage totes for a sale price. Stuart tested them awhile back. Not seeing any price movements.

Toolmarts is also doing 11% off – using code SALUTE
