It looks like every one is competing to see who can sell the the most Rockwell Jawhorses. Several retailers have dropped the price of the Jawhorse to $160, including free shipping! The Jawhorse weighs about 40+ lbs, so the free shipping is a pretty sweet bonus.
If you order from Woodcraft, use coupon code 62610 to get a free knife ($20 value) added to your $75+ order!

I wonder if the Jawhorse will ever come down to around 125.00? That’s when I think I could bring myself to buy one. It definitely seems handy and I’m sure I would use it more often than I already think I would.
Stuart
I’m not sure. It’s been price fixed for a very long time now.
The fact that only a few retailers have dropped its price now means that either a price drop is inevitable, or that they’re competing for last-minute Father’s Day business. Since the Jawhorse seems to be a remarkably good according to Amazon’s bestseller’s list, retailers are probably selling it a discount to entice shoppers to buy add-ons, accessories, or unrelated products.
The Ridgid SuperClamp and OEM-version Triton SuperJaws are the Jawhorse’s only direct competitors. I don’t think that the Jawhorse is being discounted to compete against these products, nor do its sales appear to be dwindling.
Long story short, it might drop in price, perhaps not to $125, at least not right away, but as long as people keep buying them at or near full price, a permanent price reduction at this time is unlikely.
I’ll cross my finders along with you. While the Jawhorse is definitely something I want, I don’t think I can justify its cost just yet.

Rockwell doesn’t know how patient I am. I’ll wait years if I have to, to get one at 125!
I recently saw a package deal with the Jawhorse and the plywood jaw for $175. I thought that deal was ok – I think the plywood jaw by itself is $50.
Of course, I didn’t buy it.
One other disappointing thing is that, even though they have been out for a while, I still never see them for sale used.
Stuart
That’s actually a very good sign! A tool sold as used is a tool not needed or wanted anymore.

Was just at Lowe’s and noticed they also had the Jawhorse for $159, but it ends today 6/21.
Stuart
I noticed that as well. I grabbed a flyer and was going to scan it in before noticing the sale end date.

Just curious why you think the discount is not related to the release of the Ridgid version?
Doesn’t it seem weird that it was discounted to the exact same price as the Ridgid clamp?
Stuart
The pricing might have been related, but the Jawhorse jumped back to full price now that Father’s Day is behind us.
Competition with Home Depot’s offering of the Rigid SuperClamp may have prompted Lowes to discount the Jawhorse for Father’s Day, but that doesn’t explain why other retailers dropped the price at the same time. Perhaps other retailers lowered their prices to match Lowes, or perhaps prices were adjusted temporarily at the wholesale level. I’m not in retail and don’t have any contacts that can offer anything but similarly cautious speculation, so I cannot say for sure what prompted the discount.
