Mosh sent a heads-up (thank you!) about the Milwaukee 25′ STUD tape measure being on sale. (Learn more about the Milwaukee Stud tape measure here.)
Update: That was quick – the deal appears to have sold out within a half hour.

Right now, it’s on sale for just $10, and from… Amazon? Amazon isn’t (usually??) an authorized Milwaukee tool dealer, but somehow they got their hands on STUD tape measures, and have them priced at just $10 each. The 25′ STUD tape measure typically retails for $20 to $25.
I can’t find a model number, but the $10 STUD appears to be Milwaukee’s first generation product that launched two years ago. It was updated a year ago, with a smaller spring to slightly reduce its size. That new version, model 48-22-9725, typically sells for $28.
We don’t know how many of these 25′ STUD tape measures Amazon has in stock, or how long they’ll remain at the $10 price.
The STUD is a larger tape measure, but it appears to be popular locally and with many users. It’s said to have an extremely durable blade and impact-resistant case.
Price: $10

I just saw the same thing at HD last night. It looks like they’re clearing out old stock.
Aside from being more compact, the Gen 2 also has the markings printed on the back. Not sure if that’s worth paying more than double for though.

I sent you a tip a week or 2 ago, amazon had a banner on their homepage for milwaukee tool deals which quite surprised me.

I’m sorry if I missed it. I don’t see any emails from your address. Was it through a social media DM or similar? I can no longer respond to everything these days, but a tip about Milwaukee tool deals on Amazon would/should have gotten my attention.
Greg
oh no worries at all i didnt mean to sound off. I totally understand you would get a ton of stuff. I used the “contact us” form somewhere on the site.
Greg
I just meant to say that i had noticed Milwaukee stuff showing up on Amazon

Missed it. Serves me right for not checking this column bright and early each morning.

I was right here and still missed it. I hesitated and made a coffee. I think these sorts of fire sales are meant to drive views to the listing.

Can you say loss leader?

In my area HD also has 16ft version for $8.

I bought 3 of these last year around Christmas.
These tapes are huge and clunky and all around disappointments.
I wouldn’t buy these again for 10$ and especially not at full price.
Especially when compared to the fatmax its just a disappointment
Tyler
If this is the old version, and the updated version is what I have, then stay away! Really big and clunky, and tape easily deforms. Not worth it, even at $10!!

Saving a few greenbacks that also increases USPS workload in these times for non-essential purchases of Chinese-made products. Undignified.
