I hate saying “hot deal” so much in a short period of time, but I don’t know how else to describe the discount on this Dewalt battery bundle.
$159 is a great price for 2x 20V Max 6.0Ah battery packs. $134, which is what you get after taking off the $25 off $100+ promo at Amazon? It’s almost crazy-good. That comes down to $67 per battery pack, or $11.17 per amp-hour.

Dewalt 5.0Ah battery packs are currently priced at $149 for 2 at Amazon. That’s $14.9 per amp-hour.
These latest and greatest 6.0Ah battery packs are slightly larger and heavier, because they feature larger next-gen battery cells that are in theory capable of delivering greater power and runtime, due to staying cooler during use.
These 6.0Ah packs pair nicely with more demanding tools, but you can use them in almost all 20V Max tools and accessories. You’ll have a problem with the tools that have very tight battery compartments designed to fit the standard compact or high capacity battery packs.
Long story short, over at Acme Tools, add these batteries to your cart, along with coupon code DEW2017, and enjoy seeing the price drop to $134. There’s no better deal on Dewalt battery packs at the moment, at least not that I know of.

You might have seen retailers promoting another Dewalt battery pack deal for the holiday season. Amazon has the same deal – 2x 20V Max 3.0Ah battery packs for $99. That comes out to $16.5 per amp-hour. The Dewalt 5.0Ah battery deal works out better, and the 6.0Ah battery pack deal, if you don’t mind the slightly added size and weight, works out much better.
And just so it’s not left out, you can buy a 2-pack of 4.0Ah battery packs for $129.
Lack
The 2x 9Ah set is $199, which makes it $11.05 per amp (the coupon doesn’t work for them).

True, but they’re a lot bigger and heavier, and take longer to charge. For 20V Max tools, this is the sweetest spot right now. I avoided mentioning those FlexVolt batteries because they were in a deal post the other day, and because 20V Max vs FlexVolt isn’t quick to bring up.
Curtis
I really like the 5ah batteries myself. They’re still relatively small, but powerful enough for any of the 20v tools. I understand the sixes are a bit bigger and heavier.
The flexvolt batteries on the other hand are a lot bigger and heavier than the 20v batteries. In my opinion they’re actually too big for most tools.
Tim
The 6Ah FlexVolt batteries are $149 for two, but same thing about being an even bulkier pack.

$125 for two 6Ah flexvolt batteries after the discount? I’m in. I don’t even own DeWalt! Good gift price though, and better than buying some piece of junk for that DeWalt user in your life!
Tim
Derp, I got an error in my cart, and when I tried to check out again, now the coupon code doesn’t apply on that set… Fluke the first time around maybe? YMMV?
Stuart
Must have been a fluke.
The 20V Max 6Ah battery 2-pack still works.
The FlexVolt 6Ah battery 2-pack does not. If you got it to work, NICE, but I can’t repeat it in my cart test.

These XR 6ah batteries are the bee’s knees! Very noticeable difference VS 4ah on all types of saws. Yes they work with most of DeWalt’s 20v tools, I would suggest not getting them solely for use on drills or impacts as they are quite unwieldy.

You can get @ 2pack of Dewalt 5ah regularly on eBay in the package for 115…..but $134 for a 2 pack of 6ah is good…you can get em at 159 plenty of times….the 20v max 6ah is a little longer Not much heavier…the flex 6ah is not longer but taller and a little heavier…
…..your not getting that much more runtime with the 6ah…..the perfect size for most of the 20v max line is the 5ah …it’s a perfect size and weight and runtime is awesome..I know ,I have every Dewalt cordless tool…I frame homes…
….This whole idea that it runs cooler stuff is lab stuff…in the real world it’s the same..
Joe J
I bought a pair of 6.0ah earlier this year. They are great for saws/grinders and some other larger tools.
A little more than I want hanging off the end of a drill or driver though.

the dew2017 does not work so disappointed tried 3 times and capitalized the letters also
Stuart
Sorry, this deal expired in 2017.
Frank
if this deal was done in 2017 then why is it still on the internet nothing more than false advertising to suck you in
Stuart
Expired deals are kept for historical reference. There are tags that it was a Holiday 2017 deal.
Tool Nut has a $25 off $100+ promo right now – https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-tool-deal-25-off-100-thru-021519/ , but the starting price is $199, as at other authorized dealers.
