Over at Acme Tools, they’re running a really good Dewalt 20V Max promo right now.
Buy a 20V Max starter kit, featuring a charger, (2) 5.0Ah batteries, and a carrying bag, and choose TWO free bare tools. Not only that, the choices are all brushless power tools.

- DCD991B premium drill/driver
- DCF887 3-speed impact driver
- DCF894B 1/2″ mid-range impact wrench
- DCS570B 7-1/4″ circular saw
- DCS334B jig saw – yes, the new one that just came out
The starter kit is $299, and the value of the bare tools range from $140 to $199.
With this deal, you’re essentially creating a custom 2-brushless power tool combo kit, for $299. These are all the latest and greatest Dewalt 20V Max brushless tools too, meaning none of them are “holiday specials,” like the DCD777 drill or DCF787 impact driver.
Add the starter kit to you cart, and it then allows you to select your “free gifts.”

Promo ends 12/16/18, while supplies last. The starter kit is currently out of stock, but said to be “arriving soon.” You can still order it, this just means that you might have to wait a little bit for your order.
The coupon gives you:
- $15 off purchase of $150 – $299.99
- $30 off purchase of $300 – $499.99
- $75 off purchase of $500+
It seems like the starter kit should be excluded from the coupon promo, but at the moment the coupon is showing a $15 discount. Adding a drill bit pushed the order over $300 and increased the discount to $30.
Thank you to everyone who wrote in about the deal!
Which tools will/would you pick? I’d probably go for the mid-range impact wrench and jig saw.
Robert
The bare tool link isn’t working…
Stuart
Thanks! Weird, it looks fine on one computer but not the other. I’ll leave it out for now.
Robert
So they raised the price to an even $300 now so you don’t have to add anything to get the $30 extra off. If I didn’t already have those tools I’d buy them. $270 delivered for specialty tools is pretty sweet… You could turn around and resell the tools for $100-$120 apiece and get two 5ah for $25-$35 each. If I didn’t already have 22 DeWalt batteries that’s what I’d do to stock up. ?
Stuart
Yes! It was showing as $300 on the product page, but $299 in-cart.
Now I’m seeing $300 in-cart. Well, $270 after coupon.
Jason
22 batteries? Wow
Robert
Yeah… I have a crew and we can eat batteries up.
Bill
Stuart, do you know when the barrel grip version of the jig saw will be available? Do you plan a review?
Stuart
I believe ETA is January.
I do plan to test it, and if you have specific questions, I can try to address them ahead of a full review.
Mike
I’m curious to hear other’s experiences & pros/cons with barrel grip vs top-handle….just a seasoned DIY’er updating my extensive 18v Dewalt collection to 20v and debating between DCS334 & 335. (had the older 18v DC330 which was “ok”, but the newer Dewalt 20v brushless jigsaws look to have some nice upgrades over the 330/331 brushed models.
Like the variable speed trigger on 334 however the ergonomics (lower hand position) and compactness of the 335 would seem to be advantageous…however have never used a barrel grip and curious which others preferred in practice. Thanks…
Bill
Mike, I fell for the barrel grip about 30 years ago when an experienced carpenter, and friend, showed me a faster way to cope crown molding using the venerable Bosch 1582 corded barrel grip jigsaw. As you alluded to, the barrel grip simply gives you a more compact and more controllable tool. Fitted with a Collins Coping Foot the Bosch is an even better tool at following the curves of molding.
Some complain about the heat from using a barrel grip design for extended periods but, like you, I fall in the seasoned DIY category so I don’t use one for hours at a time.
Mike
Thanks Bill, that’s the application I was guessing the barrel-grip would be good at. I’ve never coped a joint yet with a jigsaw (all my uses would be fine with the top-handle), but thinking ahead in event I do some crown for a couple of our rentals in the future. For this type of application, I’d imagine having a jigsaw that can be switched ‘ON” would be quite useful…thanks for the insight…
Mike
Also, I sent a note to Collins about their coping foot compatibility with the new DeWalt brushless jigsaws…TBD
Mike
Thanks Stuart!
I was already eyeing the circular saw for $169 plus tax at HD… But thanks to your post, I snagged the jigsaw and 2 large batteries for only a hundred bucks more!

where can i buy in the phils a dewalt DCB115 charger? , may dewalt charger was damaged.
gerhard
Trying to buy one myself seems like no one has them here in phillipines
Chris
??? this is a great deal. Buttttt I don’t need any more batteries. Otherwise I would totally snag more.
Mike
Wow, GREAT deal – thanks! Just ordered for $270….no shipping….I was looking for that exact circular saw and jigsaw…didn’t need any more batteries or chargers but this was no brainer and can sell the starter kit easily.
This was right up there as my best purchase of the season with the Dewalt DHS790T2 Miter Saw that I snagged for $494 last month from CPO. ($519 – $25 Dewalt off special)
Thanks much to everyone for pointing out these great deals – would never have found this one! (wasn’t obvious from landing on their website)

Does the 20 V Max* Ah Starter Kit with 2 Batteries come with an actual drill before the two free bare tools? It doesn’t show any tool but the bag and batteries in both the picture and description…
Stuart
Unfortunately, no. That’s just one example of the bonus tool options.
Steve
Followed this link to ACME Tools, however ended up buying the Hitachi 18 V Li-ion Brushless Triple Hammer Impact Driver WH18DBDL2P4 along with two 3.0 batteries and charger for a total of 139.00. The batteries and charger are free and there is 60.00 off of the drill. In comparison Amazon sells this as a kit for 369.00. Although for the 369.00 at Amazon you do get a case!
Stuart
Thanks for the tip, that is a great deal!

This is an amazing deal! I had asked for the tool-only mid-compact impact wrench for Xmas (and it was already under the tree!) before I saw this deal. Way too good to pass up, as I was eyeing the new jigsaw as well. Now I got them both and 2 big batteries for less than the cost of the two tools themselves.
